Should Parents Curse In Front Of Their Small Children?

I was coming out of a store today and heard a lady tell her I would guess 5 or 6 year old to get in the fu@#$%ing truck and they better stop fu#$%ing around.

Do you think that is a good thing to do?

Their going to hear everywhere else anyway. Might as well get them use to it.

It is today's cultural downfall. Pure trash of society accepting it as the norm. The question should be, what can be done about it? I can't ask that question because I don't have the answer to it. Just thankful I was born and came up in a better time.

I never heard my parents cuss anytime. My grandmother say that she had never heard my grandfather cuss, but heard he could cuss like a sailor. He was a Captain on a vessel.

Absolutely not! Although if you are at Walmart or Sam's you see it every day! Then look at the parent and you understand why right away. Shenequa can't control Le'monjello any other way!

Black welfare mom's do this ALL THE TIME.

NO and IMO that word needs to be ban from the English language. If I never hear that word again, it would be too soon.

No. Of course it isn't right. But it happens, and it's why some children grow up with foul mouths. They get it "honest" from their parents. Parents should censor themselves (I know it's not now probably correct to use this source after the events of the last week, but the stand up comedy movie "Bill Cosby: Himself" describes this in detail, how parents sometimes sound "stupid" censoring themselves while disciplining their children.) and should be ever vigilant regarding their children's behavior. A parent should watch what they say in from of their child, and, if the child does hear a parent curse, remind them to "do as I say, not as I do or did."

Parents should never use the F word to their children. Sickening.

I don't know that is a tough call - I try never to use curse words in front of my children and my parents did not raise us with any form of cursing - but and God forgive me, I have used the F-Word in front of my children - now they are 12, 14, 17 and I can honestly say I never cursed at them at that 5 or 6 but sometimes when you feel like you are losing it - it is amazing what comes out of your mouth! I have always apologized after the fact. You never know what a person is going through or what is happening in their lives - I try not to stand in judgement.

It is not just A/A parents who cuss their children. I've heard white parents cuss them as well. I've even heard one Grandmother tell her Grandson she was going to cut him. It's shame but it does happen in all walks of life. And no I'm not A/A.

I was at a baseball game at Snow Hill high school recently. In between innings the announcer played music. One of the songs began with the word MFer. We were appalled at the choice of music. The announcer apologized saying it hit the non clean version instead of the clean version. Several black women standing behind us said to themselves but loud enough we could hear them saying they didn’t think it was a big deal. Yes the players and people in the stand have heard the word but it was very inappropriate at the event

Yeah Braithwaite parents never cuss! The collective IQ of most of the commenters makes them blame blacks for everything bad. Give it a rest.
