Salisbury Fire Chief Rick Hoppes To Retire

It is with a mixture of sadness and joy--and a whole lot of pride--that we congratulate Fire Chief Rick Hoppes on his upcoming retirement after 30 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Salisbury.

The City of Salisbury is looking for an energetic and detail oriented leader, with a track record of career accomplishments to serve in the capacity of Fire Chief. Top candidates for this challenging leadership role must thrive in a robust, fast-paced, and complex environment. The next Chief will be creative, strategic, and able to fully implement best practices for a data-driven deployment of resources. The next Fire Chief will embrace and appreciate the performance of the entire Department.

Congratulations to Chief Hoppes! One time I hope they hire someone from outside the Department. Issues that exist here need some fresh eyes and thoughts to deal with them. Just don't want to see things backslide with the like of the Stalag 13 volunteers, that issued needed to be resolved and it is!

Well this should be interesting. Will it be an internal promotion or an outside hire?

Wish Doug Jones could leave his job now and assume this role... he fits the description of what they are looking for to a T

No need to promote any of those idiots currently on the payroll.

They all used the same knife to stab their brothers in the back to get promoted.
