Delmar Police Welcome New K9 Unit

The Delmar Police Department is pleased to announce the addition of a new canine. The canine named Roxy, is a 1 1/2 year old Belgium Malinoise, whom is trained as a dual purpose, Narcotics Detection Patrol Dog (NDD/P). K9 Roxy was obtained through a grant award from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development program. K9 Roxy was purchased March 2018 and certified through Delmarva K9 LLC. (DK9). Located in Pittsville, Maryland. K9 Roxy and her handler, Pfc Nicolas Aungst, attended and graduated an intense four week certification course sponsored through Delmarva K9 LLC. (DK9). K9 Roxy was certified in building and area searches, human tracking/trailing, suspect apprehension, and narcotics scent detection. K9 Roxy is assigned to Pfc Aungst, a 4 year veteran of the Delmar Police Department.
