Did Lower Shore Schools Make Wrong Call With Early Closings Yesterday?

In Salisbury we only had rain through like well past when School would have let out. Did the Schools make right call?

i think they did. better safe than sorry. a slight change wouldve been bad. they go by what the weather man says. im sure there are people who would gripe either way, but being on the side of caution with the kids is always best.

From now on, will schools be closed whenever it rains? Or how about if it's cloudy with a chance of rain.

Huh? If we only got rain what is that white stuff on my lawn?

Yes -- there was the flooding problem also. Now don't ask such questions to get the folks blasting off their hatred of WCBOE employees especially against our dedicated teachers.

Yes, the right choice was made.

941 is right, I live next to Bennett and the snow is very, very deep. maybe a half inch. close schools and all govt. offices, it's really bad.

We better see that Marc Holloway, Larry Dodd, Ernie Davis, John Cannon, Joe Holloway are reelected.

Thanks to Julie Brewington's latest f-up, Bill McCain will be on the County Council after the election this fall and we don't know if another liberal like him will be elected to the seat now held by John Hall.

Did you see the MD School shooter was black who shot 2 white kids where is the UNBIASED CNN COVERAGE ? CRICKETS.

Yes they did make the wrong call, with only 180 days of instruction and kids not knowing basic math and are not taught cursive, and if a teacher does not have to stay after school leaves as soon as the kids leave the classroom.... i think they should be held to teach all 180 days.... I am glad Gov. Hogan is making them make up the couple days missed due to inclimate weather and must end school by June 15th. The teachers win and complain about their pay... Gov. Hogan has already discovered mismanagement of monies in several school districts and i am sure it is going on here. Teachers want to say all kids and parents are disrespectful, i think that is throwing everybody in one basket. Yesterday my daughter told me that one or at least two teachers were telling the kids that school will probably be closed today.... If you know the eastern shore, the weather isn't always that easy to predict.

Really. Why dont you predict the forecast then. Damned if u do damned if u don't. When it comes to children and everyone who has an opinion. I think the decision is in the best interest of the children. Cant make everybody happy! People have too much time on their hands.

Better to make a mistake being over safe than not.

As a former teacher and administrator, yes they made the right call with the weather calling for the bad weather conditions. Be thankful that the call was made and the welfare of the children were looked out for!

Anonymous said...

Exactly the right call! If the snow had come like forecasted, everyone would have been pissed for not closing altogether!

If the children aren't in school, where the hell are they supposed to fight?

Duluth, MN with 60 snow DAYS per year.
Buffalo, NY with 61 snow DAYS per year
Birminghamton, NY with 64 snow DAYS per year
Syracuse, NY 66 with snow DAYS per year.

This is just the short list.

How do you reckon kids in:EVER, EVER get an education. Christ the school boards must declare the schools are always closed
unless an announcement is made on the TV, radio, internet.
How do THOSE kids get to school?
