Barry Dize Files For Mayor Of Crisfield

I would like to announce that i have filed to run for Mayor for the City Of Crisfield. This has been on my heart for a while because I love my home town and its people. I was a City councilman from 2006 until 2011. I have 30 years experience in the trucking industry with over half of that in management. I have a wonderful wife of almost 20 years who is in complete support and in agreement with this decision. I have 3 wonderful daughters who mean the world to me and i love them more than anything. I have the full support from my family and i would like to have the support from all of my friends, neighbors, and residents of the City of Crisfield. It would be my pleasure to serve you for the next four years and maybe longer. Thank you in advance to all that support me and if you choose not to support me, I would love to sit with you to see if i could change your mind. THANK YOU !!!

Mr Dize, I don’t know you but would like to offer some advice to you. When writing something like this, try to avoid using I, me or my. Writing without those references makes things sound more inclusive and that you are interested in the overall good for everyone as opposed to selfish reasons. You used I, me or my a total of 18 times. Rewrite it and avoid those references and you will see how much better it sounds.

1:51 Your claim to not knowing him seems a little unbelievable if you would take the time to count all the 'I, me, and my's just to enter a criticism.

Good advice 1:51. It's a mistake a lot of folks make. Obama was notorious for the same thing. Everything was about him, him, him.

I, me and my worked for Obama

I honestly don’t know him. I read it and it stuck out to me. Hopefully he is a great candidate. Just trying to give him some advice moving forward. If he wins, he will be doing a lot of writing and the public perception is what matters.

Apparently Barry works in Balitmore 5 days a week and commutes home in Crisfield. I commend his commitment for try to live in Crisfield. 13 to 15 hours away each day is going to be hard to be a Mayor for a town who desperately needs an active Mayor.

You can't be from crisfield lol

Crisfield has never had a full time active mayor, not in the budget. Annual salary of 4 or 5000 bucks. Crisfield needs a lot of things and it begins with people not being against everything anyone tries to do there. Hopefully a new group of people in office can stop stopping anything progressive.

You are correct.

Why? It's only a part-time job. WTF do you think they hired Rick Pollitt for?

This must have come from Kim Lawson? Running scared much?

You forgot to mention if you were a Republican or a Democrat.

Have you ever been caught in a Prostitution Sting in Salisbury?

Do you know Flea?

Go Barry! Don’t worry about the grammar police, it was just a Facebook status. People love to shoot others down when they feel bad about themselves. Crisfield needs a good peron like you to be mayor!

So, because it was “just a Facebook post”, you shouldn’t take grammar seriously? You shouldn’t care about how it appears to other people. If you are attempting to become a public servant or politician, you shouldn’t have pride in how your writing skills md communicate effectively? I didn’t realize Facebook excluded you from so many things. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I don’t have Facebook. Maybe I’ll consider signing up for it since it excuses you from following basic rules of society.

Facebook is an informal form of communication and is a social media platform. It is not the same thing as a document being submitted for the City. Your argument is invalid. It is so sad that you find joy in criticizing a man who is just trying to help Crisfield out. Also, grammar has nothing to do with following basic rules or society. There is a lot more going on than one man’s grammar on a Facebook status, and for you to just key in on one aspect of it shows how much of a sorry person you are.

Nice post Barry! Folks like 9:22 just looking for drama....we want action from elected officials, not worried about your writing etiquette!! We want an active Mayor not an author!!!!!

The only thing holding crisfield back is the "good ole boy system" but these old crabby nasty people are dropping like fleas. So hopefully some forward thinking people will move the town forward instead of the poor sad crackytown Mayberry they have created by not getting hard on trashy people and not bringing money jobs to the town.

The good ole boy system is called networking and that's how things get done.

922 check your spelling please! Ha!

922 what is "md" stand for? Or did you make a mistake? Did you mispell a word while criticizing someone else's grammar? That would be ridiculous. Please explain at once!

See how fast bloggers/chatters take to wander off into KIDSHIT land? The man is introducing himself and announcing his plans to become Mayor of Crisfield. It is a subjective declaration about HIMSELF and what HE plans on doing.

I never cease to be amazed. Amazed is not the right word. DISAPPOINTED.

Being a Dize, born in Crisfield, though I have lived in Las Vegas since I was 18, now 63, I would like to think Mr. Dize can make a difference, but I lost confidence and loyalty to Crisfield a handful of years ago.

The town population chart looks like Jacques Cousteau's last dive chart.

So, though I wish Mr. Dize the best in his new endeavor... I don't by any stretch of my imagination believe he will change anything at all.

BEST BET IN VEGAS!
