Explaining My Support For Beau Oglesby For Judge

After my post this week showing my support for Beau Oglesby many thought I had lost my damn mind after years of criticism him. Look this is about putting aside differences for the betterment of the State Of Maryland. Every candidate sent to the Governor for this selection process is a quality legal mind and would make a great judge. I however see that Governor Hogan is selecting younger States Attorneys to fill the open seats in a brilliant move on his part. These judges have 15 year terms, and knowing the way Maryland could go back Liberal at any time, putting younger candidates in these open spots solidifies a lengthy period of a Conservative Governor's picks.

If Beau is your guy then he is your guy. You should not have to explain or defend your choices to anyone. everybody has a right to their opinion.

This statement still does not make sense of why you "all the sudden" support Beau after years of knowing who and what he is? Your decision is completely political, period. Younger can be a positive and a negative, and to base your opinion solely on this is nonsense. Actions speak louder than words, and his actions and your actions scream "political bullshit"!

Pretty sure if you have to "explain" why you are supporting someone you have never supported, your just trying to explain to yourself why you doing this too.

Is he a Republican ?

He AIN'T a scumbag DemocRAT so he has my Vote.

Anyone with a grain of sense wants older and more experienced attorneys as judges. This guy does not fit that. And there's a much better one on the list, namely Regan Smith.

I would not appoint Beau Oglesby to wash my car let alone be a judge. First, he would need directions to the courtroom since he has not seen the inside of one for a very long time. He likes the title and the perks that come with the S.A. position and what will come should Hogan do the unthinkable and appoint him a judgeship.
Second, he is very immature and tries to act like a police officer... wearing his little badge around his little neck when he is out in public. He was seen wearing it at his kids baseball game. What is the definition of being a hot dog? All the parents were laughing at him and shaking their heads.
Third, he is not very bright. For him to have to make an immediate decision on a case is a scary thought and something he is not capable of doing very well, as he cannot think quickly on his feet. He is easily intimidated and does not hold up well under stressful situations.

If he were appointed to be a judge he will not be able to hide and send in his staff to cover for him as he has done since he has been elected. Well, what staff is left that is. He managed to run off everyone in that office. He is not in his office most days and no one seems to hold him accountable or even know where he is or what he is doing during the hours of a normal work day. All you have to do is drive by the S.A.'s office...look for his assigned parking spot and it will be empty most days.
Law enforcement in Worcester County views Oglesby as a joke. He made a speech in Ocean Pines during the last election and he made a comment that no one sells drugs in Worcester County because they are scared of him. Well we all know what a joke that is!!!! He could not intimidate a 90 year old woman in church let alone drug dealers. But again this is how clueless he is. Maybe if he showed up for work he would realize how bad the drug problem is in this county.

Bottom line is Oglesby has the Napoleon/small man complex. He is not fit for any kind of elected office. It is also commonly known in law enforcement circles that Sheriff Mason is disappointed in Oglesby's performance and now regrets he supported him in the last election.

jt,

Like your blog, but your choices, including this one, are often seriously mistaken.

3:09 is spot on. If appointed, he will give judges a bad reputation, just like he is now giving lawyers a bad name.

Judge Bloxom is a Democrat and one of the toughest judges I've ever met...Too bad there is a mandatory retirement when you get to 70. He should be allowed to stay on the bench, and not just fill in occasionally as the retired judges do now. By the way, I'm a Republican, so there is no politics involved with my comment. I have work in law enforcement 20 plus years and have seen how the judges in that county work.

No they need to retire as does the old fucks from Congress like Nancy and Chuck and the whore Wilson.

Dear Larry Hogan,

Just say no to Beau!

I agree with the earlier post about Oglesby never being in court. I work at the courthouse and I NEVER see him! What does he do all day? I would think someone in his position should be accountable for his time during the day. I mean the taxpayers are paying his salary. And crime certainly isn't going down so he should have plenty of work to do. Maybe that is why his staff left....he makes them do all the work! He would make a HORRIBLE judge!!!! Please Gov. Hogan and staff.....do not select him!!!!!!

Had to stop back and see if you posted anything again now that Beau has come out and said he doesn't know what he is doing, or waiting for Gov Hogan to appoint the Judges. This should serve as a clear representation of Beau's character. He can't give Hogan a chance to decide, he simply wants to put pressure on him and the county to "tell" everyone he is the right choice. He is an arrogant person and everyone knows it! Now he is endorsing another person? Wow, Beau you are not a great person and anyone who wants to be supported by you I guarantee is not a good person or have good intentions for the county rather good intentions for themselves. As always Beau thinks he can bully everyone in Wor Cty, and now he is supposed to be our next Judge? Please if time has shown anything it is that is NOT non-partial and he is only out for the benefit of himself.
And for the record I could not disagree more that Beau should be the next Wor Cty Judge for retention reasons, he is acting very political now and doesn't care if its ethically right or wrong it will not change when he becomes Judge and he will favor people as he sees fit!

Reggie Mason is the reason Oglesby won the election. If Oglesby has to run again he will not win.
