I thought black lives matter. Guess that is only for the fraction of homicides against blacks by police or white people. It's ok for blacks to kill each other.

The storms are wiping out the wrong places why not somers cove but spare the lives and wash the projects out to sea

Crisfield needs to shut that shithole down and restore Crisfield to what it used to be, A quiet sleepy town.

With Laquan as a middle name I think it is safe to say the victim was black.

I keep saying, move the trash from the Somers cove and surrounding areas to thier own little town where they can kill, drink, screw, do drugs whatever, that's the only hope that crisfield, that could be a pride of the Chesapeake, has.

Wow Really all of it is senseless violence rather it be black on black or white on black. Everyone pointing fingers while kids are waking up parentless.Rather parents dead in jail or in needle stuck in there arm and it's definitely not only in the projects it's in our backyard. Smh we enable our children or siblings or grandchildren bUT look at others and judge. And all dealers aren't from the streets r in the streets open your eyes to all people....

Truth hurt? Only bitch about a black person getting murdered when the race card can be played.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, there are so many white people with the name Laquan. It's also not hard to look up the list he has on case search. Truth hurts once again.

Dumb ass blacks always killing each other.

let protest blacks killing blacks

to 6:45 pm--the first article said "Upon their arrival officers located a black male approximately 25 years of age suffering from multiple gunshots to the upper torso."
So yes, race was revealed. No need to insult those who actually can, and do, read the articles.

I wonder how honest people would be if they couldn't remain anonymous.

Dumb ass black people always fitting the stereotype.

Getting on a blog, cussing the opposite race solves nothing. Your blame is based on color instead of on the real problem - drugs

Do you really want your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors to live in this environment. The environment of poverty is caused by drugs in many cases. The poor often have different priorities. Their meager pay goes for tattoos, liquor and drugs while tax payers feed them, put a roof over their head and raise their family. The poor get poorer, and the drug sellers get richer, while the drug "King Pen" lives the life style of the rich and famous.

The Press Release did not state color, but did give information IMO proving the murder was drug related. So blacks blame whites and whites blame blacks, though the real problem has no color. Wake up - Drugs do not care about your color. If you are a user or seller, you are playing Russian Roulette with your life. It is not color's fault if you overdose, or end up murdered or end up the murderer. Everyone needs to STOP playing stupid, with blame games.

Color doesn't matter either "if you see something, and say something" for it could well save a life, not a color.

Guess the state police comment doesn't fit your agenda

Anonymous said...

This is racist.

Give them their own jungle

Anonymous said...

The State Police comment was : why doesn't Mike call the State Police homicide team. They would have already locked someone up

Anonymous said...

I know the victims father and he is taking it very hard. The rude comments on here, if he was to see them, would only upset him more. So Please show a little respect for the family and friends of the victim instead of making ignorant comments. R.I.P Mark

He was my friend. Race does not matter. He didn't care if u were black white male female. He was a good man and care about everyone he came into contact with. So I agree ppl need to keep their ignorant comments R.i.p Mark aka Spazz

GOD don't like ugly!!Your family members are not excluded they're the white trash of the city who bring the drugs in and set shit up. The white folks, okay that's how the drugs get into the city in hopes of killing or eliminating the blacks. The epidemic you started (white folk)drugs etc. is now backfiring killing your family members all over the city. So it doesn't just lie in the jets, hood or whatever you call it. So the pride of Crisfield left a long time ago. It could easily been Lil Charlie, Roger, Jill, Sarah then how would you feel. I agree clean up the city. Crisfield was once a safe, enjoyable relaxing city but put the blame where do.

Original press release did give race of the victim: black male. The original release did not state the victim's name, and estimated the age. Had this been a genuine John Doe, race would matter in helping to do an ID.

6:51, you mean like all blacks do when the death was at the hands of some other than a black person?

Anonymous said...

It's not a black and white issue .. it s a drug issue that needs to be cleaned up around here.. it's so sad to hear and see our people go threw this mess .. but those king pins need to be found and prosecuted for the start .. I pray that someone comes out and talks about this young man's life .. He didn't deserve to die .. no one does .. But like I said it has to start there to get things cleaned up.. I pray for that young boys soul.. plus I pray for his parents .. He was to young to die.. God created everyone on this earth white , black , yellow , red we all have red blood that flows in our veins. . We all have feelings and don't need for all the hurt and things that are happening now .. as a town we need to create something for our youths to get interested into whether it's sports movies or something needs to be done here .. this will also help get get rid of the drugs .. we need law enforcement at the housing apartments at all times on foot and sitting somewhere with cameras .. I worry for everyone that lives down there or around there ... I'm praying for everyone ... but this town has to do something for our youth... we have to put a strong city council in to do it as well .. Because none of this makes no since .. get factories in this town so people can work and support theirself .. not a chicken menorah plant , it creates no jobs to pay anything .. that was all bull crap ..so get creative and come up with some ideas that will help us and our children .. parents this has to be coming from you as well children doesn't need to be on the prow after 900 because of school clap down on the kids unless you know where they are ...

The way I see it there's hood in all areas of Crisfield with the opioid/heroin epidemic.

Anonymous said...

FFS, white people, all drug dealers are not black! To the black people commenting,I'm white and we are not all racist "crackers". Some of us judge people by the content of their character. If you were raised right, you had parents who led by example and treated everyone fairly.Itvrwallybdoes start at home. As far as the drug problem, I'm not sure razing the projects is going to do anything about the opiate epidemic....its all kinds of people either selling or using. From the hood to the woods...its everywhere now.

who cares what color skin this person has???? This is sad that someone lost their life. Maybe what Somers Cove needs is a 24 hr guard that can check people as they enter... The Guard who need Police powers so he/she can take guns, drugs and illegal items away from persons entering the complex.

Says someone who is also anonymous !

I don't need to be anonymous for what I have to say. First things first not everyone that lives in the "projects" does drugs and breaks the law. Some of us get up and go to school and work each and every day. Second there are plenty of whites people that live here too. Last but certainly not least I offer up this word of prayer... Father God I come to you this morning as humblely as I know how. Lord I ask that you forgive those who are filled with hate no matter what their skin color is. Bring forth peace, love and togetherness. Heal this broken world that we live in. Block out anything that is not of you God, the drugs, the killings, the racism. Remove it God! Open our eyes Lord. Let us see the wickedness within ourselves before we blame others. Make us mind to one another. Love one another. Uplift one another. Father God do whatever you need to do to bring us peace, love and happiness. And God wral your arms around the young man's family. Comfort them. Dry their tears. Strengthen their hearts. Do what only you can do God. You said you would never leave us nor forsake us so God show yourself to us right now because we need you. The blacks need, the whites need you, the Hispanics need you. All of man that you created need you Father. Father I thank you in advance for your blessings and your healing. It is in Jesus name that I pray. Amen..... You all have a blessed day!

Patti Harris, right then when they go to prison it will feel like being home, prepare them for lock down

I know of a,white older woman that lives in the old age apts on cove st that sells drugs. She got busted back in April I don't know if she got evicted or not. Her apt was being used as a pick up place and she sold any kind of drug there was. It was a,place for all tangier people to go and get what they needed. She was from Tangier. So my point is we don't know all the ones that are selling or using rugs. Drugs don't discriminate. Drugs are not prejudice it will take anyone's life. Wake up people stop throwing the race card it's not going to stop until we all come together and try to stop this monster that's to big to take on alone.

Seriously should be a vote held for the entire town to demolish the projects. I guarantee the yes will have it.

Crisfield is my home, it is sad to me that people are only looking only at what as grown from the Root and not the Root Itself. Drugs and guns are no respect of persons, these things effect everyone. It is not a black thing. We own no cocoa plants or marijuana plants. Let's go to root and get off the surface. I have been listening to the ridiculous comments which have no substance and amounts to nothing, I am disappointed. We as residents and former residences of this small city both black/white, young/old, projects/uptown, city hall, police and those they work for come together with solutions that work. Unfortunately, two of the later may not show (too much profit in the very things they say they are combating) Our young people are becoming slaves to the little change they receive, while the same ones putting it out there are the very ones locking them up. Arrest and harassment are like bandages, the wound will not heal. Better jobs, better education, daycare, rec centers, playgrounds,etc... Let's identify the root of the problem and not what stems from it. GOD heal Crisfield
