Charlotte Avenue Closing In Crisfield The Right Call

The Crisfield Police have closed the south end of Charlotte Avenue at Woodson School Road until further notice. This is a great idea which will limit avenues of escape for the problem people in the projects. What has been happening is when calls to the Police are made, the criminal element knew they could take off in the other direction at this exit. Closing this will allow a better control over the entrance and exit of the complex.

Need to close the whole projects

Good idea

Now they need to address the freeloaders not on leases, drug test all renters, and put a curfew in place

Anonymous said...

And stop paying for all the fatherless babies

Anonymous said...

Its not just the projects-- anyone on HUD should be under the same rules.

That's still not gonna solve anything seriously... The indirect racist slurs really need to stop because your family members 💕 it over here getting dick or whatever u think they're getting lol

Wasnt the recent murder a black drug dealer?
But no matter the color-- all dealers and users need to be kicked out

2:57 & 3:50--
Really?! Sounds very much like y'all are the racists. You should be ashamed, acting happy over anyone dying. Drug dealers are poor on paper, not in reality, as they make plenty of money selling death. Remember when crack was the newest, biggest thing? No one I know was happy about all the black lives lost & families torn asunder by the poison sold by their own people, to anyone they can make a buck off of. Your shitty attitude is a big part of society's problems today. And people are worried about some damned statues. SMH! "As long as you continue to make it about color, it will never be about anything else." Author unknown, from MLK's era. In other words, if you don't want to be judged by your skin color, don't judge other people by theirs.

Everyone Tht lives in the projects r not drug dealers or low life's.there is some real nice ppl livin there just tryin to survive life.

I honestly believe they shouldn't b allowed to close that road.lord forbid there is some sort of event and that is the only exit.
People here upset me so much.go for anything and believe anything.
Finally, fire it up!do I really gotta put my name.cause I stay strapped and don't need to b a hero n any event or situation.

Like all addicts, they buy, sell, cheat and steal to get their fix

Anonymous said...

Not your name. The names of the people the responder saud were coming into the projects

Jonathan,

Wanna bet Day announces for reelection in a spot with the Gen. Winder sign in the background, and repeats his remark that those who want the sign to remain on the courthouse lawn are ignorant racists (that includes you)?

Crisfield is sad!!! Use to be a fun family oriented town, now all you hear is a bunch of nonsense of killing, drugs, violence and the projects. What exactly is being done??? OK lock up the dealers and you got more dealers. Next? Projects should have stipulation. What happen to curfew and I.d being used. Come on town, you big shot people can't come up with any kind of solution then you need to give up your title. Black and white lives matter but you got to stop pointing fingers. I pray for restoration of that town and unity.

Finally. That should have been closed years ago. Now the problem people do not have a quick, easy escape to the back roads. It still leaves enough exits open for emergencies, but cuts off that one easy route to the back roads.

It's a known fact that many drug addicts sell their government assistance for cash to buy drugs. This is not a new concept LOL

Anonymous said...

Well said thank you.

Anonymous said...

Amen!

Anonymous said...

That's bull and you no it! There's been violence on every street, and they don't close it.

Surround the whole projects with a canal leading from the bay, which would leave one way in and one way out. Then again they would pollute the bay with trash and bodies (scratch that) close the black roads.

You cannot be serious with this comment. Everynody not furtune enough to have both parents in the same house hold. But what do that have to do with anything. If you upset bout the violence speak on it. Children without a father has nothing to do with the problem jack ass

So what we not free no more to do as we please reguardless where people live? Now people have to have a curfew and they are grown and some of them shootings happened and the day time. Yall need to get together and stop belittling people just because they wasnt raised the way you was raised or dont have as much as you have. Help them dont comdemmed them

Bill said...

And what about the innocent people out there who dont have no where else to go. Yall comments is making me sick to my stomach because before yall help yall rather find ways to hurt. My God have mercy on yall souls.

Not realizing they look down on blacks for selling the drugs the the govermwnt brings in for them to sell n last i checked the goverment was white. But lets not get into race the fact of the matter is dont look down upon people white, black, purple, or green because not all is bad some people is innocent. Reguardless what you think about a different race. If you racist thats fine just dont b in the closet about it let us know who you are happy to be. Dont make indirect comments because most blacks are unfortunate to buy their homes or cant afford regular rent and can get help from the state. Yall not goin to help them in no way shape or form and its sad n sickin

Hey, commenters Bill is upset so Who GAS

I find it appalling but I'm not surprised that race keeps being brought up. There are Caucasian and African-American people living in the projects. As reported by the author, there is no racial undertone or statement. Since almost all, if not all, of the comments are "anonymous" how can any of you that have commented definitively say that the person you are attacking with your comment is white or black, rich or poor, "privileged" or not, unless they state it in their comment. Seems to me the "racist" is/are the one(s) making slanderous comments towards white people and storing up a bunch of crap rather than addressing the issue and showing support for our police department for taking actions to try to better the city for ALL of us. I guarantee you did be the first to yell that the Police aren't doing anything the next time sometrhing happens. Support their efforts. Yes, some will be inconvenienced just a little bit, get over it. How far out of your way really is it to go out an exit onto 4th Street and go around. An extra minute? Wow! Get with it...be a part of the solution and not one that just sits around and runs their mouth just because they can. And stop throwing the race card down at every issue, everything is NOT about race. Done!

you fools really believe this is a race thing???

this isn`t a race thing, this a wealth thing.

the politicians, judges, prosecutors etc don`t care about the projects in crisfield or any other poor people, black and white, because they don`t live there or live near any poor folks, so what happens there doesn`t affect them.

most of the druggies and dealers don`t even go to jail when they get caught, the judge and prosecutor let them back out on the street with a slap on the wrist and lots of court costs and fines.
the courts and politicians don`t care about keeping these people off the streets because they don`t live near where these criminals are victimizing people so they know they will never be a victim of these people.

it`s a win- win for the state by letting the dealers and druggies back out on the street because it keeps the jails from getting to full and costing the state more money and all those big fines and court costs make money for the state. so the state fines them and lets them go and then catches them again and fines them some more.

the state sees drug dealers as limitless ATM`s where they can get as much money as they need when they need.

this isn`t about race this is class warfare rich against poor.

I bet if a drug dealer got caught selling drugs in the judges neighborhood, or in the prosecutors neighborhood, or even in the defense attorneys neighborhood, that drug dealer won`t just get fined he will get the maximum prison sentence.

the rich look after the rich, they care about any of us non rich folks.if you are black, white, green ,purple, or any other color if you aren`t rich you don`t mean shit to the rich people or the politicians or the courts.
i`m sorry to burst your american dream bubble but that`s the way it is and the way it`s always been, rich VS poor.

hey u wanna get out of the hood here's what you do. 1. keep your legs closed until you are MARRIED. WAIT TO HAVE CHILDREN! if you already live in the projects its obvious you cant take care of yourself financially so why bring another in the world????????
2. study hard
3. work hard
4. after you have studied hard and worked hard doors of opportunity will open but no one is going to just give you a 50k a yr job just cause your poor or black. earn it like the rest of us have or live in the projects. the choice is yours and no matter what you say no one is holding you back but yourself and no has to help you.

and 9:03 don't blame it on the higher up's like the politicians, judges, prosecutors they went to college busted their ass to get where they are. they coulda been a poor bum but they actually chose to do something with their lives. wow choosing to do something positive with your life what a concept.

Forced ghettoization does not work as far as community rehabilitation is concerned. When projects are built all that happens is you move from an old ghetto to a newly created ghetto. Most successful programs in the US have happened when low income people are dispersed among the entire community. There will always be urban poor in the cities and in the last twenty five years many low income people have moved into rural communities. Law enforcement and federal programs to stop drug sales and use are overlooked for the opportunity of "getting the bigger fish". There is little or no incentive for communities like Chrisfield to fight drug sale and use when they know that the state and feds will let the culprets out of jail time if they give up their supplier. Problem is, once one drug user turns over on his supplier, a new supplier pops up. It's and endless stream of in and out of jail for these druggies. Legalize the use of all drugs and set up comprehensive drug treatment centers. It would save money for local police departments and the savings could go toward hiring more police for street duty. It would of course ruin the careers of some secret big wigs who make their money from drug sales. The Eastern Shore is no different from most others areas of the country. The biggest difference is how this issued is handled. The cities of the Eastern Shore should look at the cities that are having the best results and apply some of their techniques to crime fighting. The Eastern Shore is still a great place to live you just need to be aware not to go into those drug and crime infested neighborhoods.
