Blue Reflective Road Markers Aren't Going Anywhere

Regardless of rumors to the contrary the City of Salisbury is not being forced by SHA to remove the reflective hydrant markers in the road.

Local branch overstepped their bounds and markers aren't going anywhere end of story.

Until the first snowfall and the plows hit the roads, then they are all going away.

Since we are on the subject of Joe Albero/Sbynews posting incorrect info you should post this as well.

If you search the image with Google it's from Hurricane Rita 12 years ago lol. I asked if he planned on adding an edit to the original post about it but he never approved it and no edit correcting his misinformation. So he knows it's wrong but leaves it like that. If someone else were to do that he would freak out, it would be the end of the world!

How about the other rumor? BLM (Black Loud Mouth"s) are offended and demand them down.

They are supposed to be plowable but that is not so. If this is an actual pic they are not in the proper place. They are supposed to be installed on the other side of the roads (passenger side of vehicle) where the hydrants are located or atleast that is where every other place is putting them including in MD.

I heard that they chose blue hydrant locators to show support for the Blue Lives Matter movement. The blue markers honor our brave men and women police officers, as well as locate fire hydrants.

Bottom line is they will have to be removed or replaced because they have been installed improperly. They don't survive the Winter.

Or because blue is the color to represent water..... such as when lines are located for excavation. Sewer is green, electric red, phone and cable orange, gas yellow. I wonder what other groups are being supported or offended by the color choices of marking utilities. Smh

They should have discussed this initiative with respective jurisdictions prior to placing them on the roads. It may have avoided issues like them being placed in the wheel path or recommendations of how to make them more plow friendly. In an area using rubber blades they may survive the winter, however in areas using steel blades it is likely they will be back out in the spring to replace most of them.

Jake has no clue what he's doing but he will hire another dumbass, (like all the kids in his office) to play a manager. This is all about Jake taking care of his friends, (again) at the expense of the taxpayers.

Lmao.... isn't that what Bob is doing?

This is 2017. Why not just geo-tag them and use gps?

Because electronics never fail ..... right?

Pretty sad that the only thing this area gets excited over is bike lanes and blue reflectors. Screw the jobs, screw our safety...

I swear you back every dumbazz in creation. Your beloved SFD leadership couldn't figure out how to correctly execute putting down hwy markers, but you think they make the right decisions on running a fire department? Give me a friggin break.

Some of the reflectors are already gone now

Maybe he meant "give his wife" not "trust his life".

They will be removed, sunshine, and maybe reinstalled.

Are you that stupid that you can't see that 1. They were improperly put in the normal path of tires and cars and trucks will destroy them. 2. The were improperly put on top of the road instead of in divots so the first snow plow that comes thru will wipe them out. 3. If any are left by Spring, SHA will make SPD remove them because they were put down without proper approval.

He is a flip flopper.

1:46 It has nothing to do with being a "negative nelly". I think the reflectors are a great idea. However, they weren't installed properly and will have to be replaced once the snow plows go over them. Your unwillingness to listen to a different point of view and willingness to call others names is sad. But that's okay, if ignorance is your thing, have at it.

I've noticed a pattern with a persons replies on Albutzo's site and now here. The use of DumbAzz, OldAzz and anything else with Azz. She speaks the same exact words and then post the next day. Shes quite handy with the Station 13 Renegades but contributes nothing to her own station. Like always her mouth is in the middle of everything

Yes, electronics fail. In the 0.0000000001% chance they fail while looking for that one "hidden" fire hydrant they can off their lazy asses and find it the old way.

Well unfortunately SHA decides that they must be within 12" of the center line. And the trial pucks survived at over a 95% rate.

You heard wrong. The blue was selected to coincide with the wraps that are sometime around the top. It reflective blue tape.
