Aldi, Lidl, Cracker Barrel Updates For Salisbury

Aldi which will be located next to the Maryand State Police Barrack on the north end of Salisbury is 80-90 days from building permits. They have final SHA approval so they are good to go..

Lidl which will be located at the current Americas Best Value Inn location on north Salisbury boulevard are also nearing building permits and currently the only delay is negotiations with neighbors Marshall, Old Navy etc over Jasmine Drive which is the new road which will run between them.

Cracker Barrel is still just looking around at the various options including Gander Mountain , the Days Inn etc.

It amazes me how many people think that Cracker Barrel is so bloody amazing. No wonder Salisbury has so many health problems and obese people. Heavily saturated sodium meals for all!

8:38 Umm dude you don't eat there 3 meals a day/ 7 days a week
I eat healthly for like 2 days then I hit Popeye's, Cook Out, Red Door cheesesteakland, Pizza City, etc.

Cracker Barrel is not in the future plans in this area. How many times do I have to repeat this. This rumor has been around as log as the war on drugs.

oh boy, more traffic on 13!!! Just what we don't need!!! Hope you all enjoy sitting in traffic back ups due to accidents or straight up stupidity.

what is going next to the Royal Farms at Wor Wic? Have heard Arby's?? but there is quite a bit of room for a few establishments.....

Cracker Barrel is not the greatest....but I loving having options for a sit down meal versus Dayton's and Golden Corral!!!! Love the Deli at Pecan Square....but it's the other side of Salisbury!!!!

Salisbury has always been fast food and car dealerships... Don't even have a decent sports equipment store.

We have enough places to eat we need manufacturing jobs.

i'm for the restaurants. I love to eat. Those can't stand them, don't go out then. Cracker Barrel is the best and we are getting a Firehouse Sub Shop too. Hmm Hmm good.

A) Manufacturing jobs will NEVER come back to this country. Even under "The Don", until we make it more difficult for american companies to make their goods outside of the US for dirt cheap labor, nothing will happen. This isn't the 50's and 60's....those days are long, long, long in the past.

B) As for the Cracker Barrel...said it before and I will say it again.....Believe it when I see it...

C) More grocery shopping options other in North 'bury other than welfare-mart and the dirty Food Lion in Delmar, EXCELLENT!!!!!

Sometimes change is good....embrace it. At least Aldi and Lidl want to come to da 'bury. If I had any kind of retail, I would steer as far away from da 'bury as I could.

Maybe Kim Jung Un will over shoot DC and put you all out of our misery.

How can everyone miss what they've never had? When Cracker Barrel ground breaking begins everyone will be ecstatic for some reason. Then they'll clobber the place for a month or so and scarcely return afterward. That's the way it is in Wicomico County and the reason new restaurants are reluctant to come here. They need a consistent crowd vs the mass crowd during opening month an zilch later.True loyalty is patronizing a place at least once every 2 weeks.

@3:03 Yes, Arbys is being built there, along with a strip mall behind it.

Just to add to my 12:03 comment, this was told to me by the employees of Royal Farms. They were not sure what stores were going to be in the strip mall though.

I would love to see Bo Jangles come to the old Wendy's location across from the college.

So Jonathan...are you implying that Jade Drive will connect Naylor Mill Rd (Behind the Mall, by Toys R Us) to E. North Pointe Rd (the road that Tractor Supply and the new apartment complex are on)? I noticed they extended the road behind Tractor Supply. If so, this would help alleviate a TON of traffic on 13.

You get yourself two packs of bologna, a loaf of 99 cent white bread, splurge on a small jar of Kraft Mayonnaise. Then you get yourself a twelve pack of whatever is the cheapest beer and a jug of some type of white wine. Don't need Aldi's or Lidl. If your cable has been cut off, you can offer one of your neighbor's with cable a sandwich or listen to the radio. Life can be good if you try.

I can't wait for Aldi! Food Lion in Delmar is terrible and I'm not a Walmart fan. I love Aldis. Would love to get a Trader Joes, but have a feeling that will be a long wait.
