Transformational Thursdays! in SALISBURY

Help us show some love, Salisbury! We're going to begin sharing pictures of the fine work our Public Works/Operations crews do with a post we're calling "Transformational Thursdays!" Every Thursday, we'll highlight something around the City that your Public Works crews have cleaned up, squared away, and made tight & tidy.
Today's post highlights the removal of tall grass and weeds from the median of E. Main St. At a glance, this might not seem like the biggest task in the world, but multiply this work over 350+ lane miles of streets in temperatures nearing 1,000 degrees (well, it feels like it...), and it's work most of us are happy to see done from inside our air-conditioned cars as we drive past.
So take a moment, leave a like, and say thanks to our men and women out there working to make the City beautiful every day! We'll go first: THANK YOU, SALISBURY PUBLIC WORKS! 💪💪💪

Good job, now about about cutting all the 2 foot tall grass all around on public spaces in the city. You fine homeowners for the same!

jt I really do appreciate the hard work done by city and county road crews, they make close to nothing and still work their asses off. if only somebody would research the county rec and parks dept and uncover how little they do and how overstaffed they are people would be shocked. lots of alcohol being consumed daily, no supervision, and lots of 2 hour breaks.

1055 is correct. here is how the day goes. punch in a few minutes after 7. get you're work order. go to royal farms for coffee. bitch about how hard you r working.10 0'clock break. get ready for lunch break. rest for 2 0'clock break. get some more beer. check out at 330 and get shit faced and come back and do it again tomorrow

the above 2 comments are very accurate. rec and parks has no supervision

Grown responsible men and women with decades of service with no infractions with the law such as the rec and parks dept has should be commended.

Nothing but some piss poor fired loser who wishes he or her still has there job with them. The person who constantly bashes this dept must really live in a Campbells soup can.

738 must be on crack. 1 worker suspended for a month for blowing the lid off a breathalyzer at 9 am while driving a county truck. 1 worker fired from the civic center for selling chairs and curtains out the back door.its kinda of weird the white guy got to keep his job but the black guy was fired.

How come the white guy got 30 days off with pay and the black guy was fired. I guarantee if they started drug and alcohol testing Monday at rec and parks we would lose half our staff. Oh well, thank you taxpayers for supporting our habits.

its also kinda weird how a county truck can pull up to the liquor store behind the mall, the driver goes in and gets his rum, this is reported to his supervisors, and nothing is done. btw he's white

Sounds to me like recreation and parks has some serious issues. If Culver turns a blind eye to the problems there, who can the good workers turn to?
