Jake Day Says Supporters Of Winder Monument Mostly Are Ignorant And Racist

As a friend of Jake Day and a supporter I have been very disturbed with his support for removing this monument from the Courthouse lawn. I told Jake now and say it again, he should have stayed out of it altogether as a politician since there was nothing he personally could do to change it. I have listened to Jake call Confederate soldiers traitors on more than one occasion and each time I just shake my head. Jake needs to brush up on his history, and as an Army guy calling someone like a Robert E Lee or Stonewall Jackson traitors is truly baffling.

In Today's interview on Delmarva Public Radio however Jake really crossed a line in my opinion. If you listen to the interview and go to the 7 minute mark area Jake calls people who support leaving the monument where it is as "mostly ignorant" and at the 8 minute mark is asked if there is an underlying racial quality for supporting it being there his answer was "absolutely". He also states around the 7:40 second mark that the supporters don't want a monument regarding the lynching. That is complete bs . I have been interviewed multiple times and stated I have no issue with that as long as it tells the whole story.

I started the petition to keep the monument where it is, having Jake call supporters that {which includes me since I started it btw} is very offensive. As a Mayor you should know when to speak and not to speak and with this issue Jake has shown a lack of understanding in how the area works. Believing that it will only maybe cost him a few votes and in the bigger scheme doesn't matter is not a smart move. Jake has awoken a much larger problem than he is aware of with his statements. The people fighting back against the BLM and liberal nonsense are now taking note of our City and I can assure you it will come back bite him in the ass.

It's hard when you like someone to see them do something really stupid like this. Jake is certainly entitled to his opinion, but having an opinion on it and pushing an agenda are different things, and Jake is pushing an agenda with his statements. Does it mean I don't like Jake?..of course not Jake is a good person but I can tell you I am very disappointed and insulted by these statements.

Actually Democrats like Jake Day are the racist. He would rather stand with the racist terror group BLM who kill cops than stand with the residents of the city and county.

Maybe he is just principled. It's what he believes to be true and I believe he is mostly right. Either way he has every right to have an opinion and speak his mind.

JT you are insane if you think that black murdering thug deserves a monument or a plaque because he got what was coming to him.

Something is wrong with the people in this country when we start putting up statues for a criminal, murdering thug!!

What about the family members of Mr. Daniel J. (D.J.) Elliot who this black thug murdered?? What about their feelings??

Anonymous said...

Apparently the murdering of white people by black thugs was common place back then as well.

"It was said that this lynching was in response to the delayed "justice" the Eastern Shore experienced in the past year with the trial of Euel Lee a.k.a. "Orphan Jones," accused of murdering a white family of four in Berlin, Maryland."

Thank you, but he doesn't deserve a monument.

General John Henry Winder deserves the monument. He never owned slaves and he never killed anyone. He was dedicated to his state just like most most Americans were at the time and now for that matter. Maryland would have seceded if it wasn't for Lincoln throwing the entire General Assembly in jail so that they couldn't vote on secession with Virginia.

Here's Yakahomo's hero that he wants Social Justice for and to honor with a monument.

During the afternoon of December 4, Matthew Williams went to the office of his employer, Daniel J. (D.J.) Elliot, local lumberyard and box factory owner, apparently to discuss his low hourly wage. Williams had been a laborer for Elliot since childhood, and to all who knew him, was liked by and extremely loyal to the Elliot family. D.J. Elliot was in his office located on Lake Street talking on the phone with another Salisbury businessman, Thomas Chatham, when Williams entered around 2:00p.m.. According to Chatham, who heard the incident over the phone, he remembered no words were spoken and that two gunshots were fired. Chatham immediately called the authorities.

The "Joe Albero" way of changing everything Salisbury with name calling and humiliation has not worked for him since his showing up on the Shore, Now people are lowering themselves to Albero standards. Better yet Jake Day needs to stay out of it. That monument was put up by the people of Wicomico County, not the City of Salisbury. It is on County Property, not city property. As a matter of fact the city doesn't own any property near the Government Office Building. They have been leaching of the Wicomico County Government for many years.

Jake Day needs to be more concerned about paying his fair share of the city's rent for occupying office space in the Government Office Building.

Bob Culver and John Cannon need to get some balls and kick Jake Day and the City out of the Government Office Building.

Slaves were treated like family, that must be why interracial marriage was illegal WAY into the 20th century. I'm not going to convince you, and idiot, but perhaps a book (don't worry, it is short) will help. It was written by a slave, probably because he loved his family so much. Must have been why they fed him from the same trough the dogs ate from and made him sleep in a burlap sack. But he did have an oyster shell for a spoon, so familial! This was in Talbot county Maryland.

Also it is free. https://www.gutenberg.org/files/23/23-h/23-h.htm

Here is a comment from the Daily Times about the "lynchings and he is right on the money about it. It is mostly fabricated and done so to bring popularity to the "cause" in order to gain attention for whatever the reason. He mentions the 'hanging of Laura' who was in fact a criminal who killed a police officer, but everyone remembers that picture to make white people feel bad and feel inferior.

Here is another picture that almost everyone has seen and remembers. This is the symbol of "slavery" that everyone remembers. I can't post it obviously, but when I describe it you will remember the mental image. It is the picture of the black slave with scars on his back. Everyone sees that picture and they have a pity party with him without even knowing what this "slave" did to get the whipping. They see that one picture, but has anyone else see any more pictures of slaves with scars from a beating?? The answer is NO! The writers of history, the left that indoctrinated you, want you to think that whitey in America is bad and everyone falls for that Bullshit. Show me another picture of a slave with scars. Better yet tell me why that slave got beat?? What white person did he rape? What white person did he murder? Do you think the "slave owner" just woke up one day and said "I feel like whipping a slaves ass today?" NO! What criminal act did that slave commit to deserve the whipping? That was the law of the land at the time. The same Liberals shedding tears for the slave who got beat or Mathew Williams who got lynched don't seem to have a problem with Sharia Law! Those same Liberals don't have a problem with Muslims throwing gays off roof tops!! Those same Liberals don't have a problem with Muslims stoning to death their wives for saying hello to another man! Interesting how the mind of a left wing Liberal thinks.

The popularity of these incidents in putting forth a deception is well established. Authors wishing to exploit these events count on the public not caring or not bothering to brush up on the particulars 50, 75, or 100 years later. This leads to "common knowledge" which is incorrect at best and deceitful at worst. In this case, we end up with angry young people who feel they are "finding out the truth of what happened." In reality, each lynching is its own story.

A case in point: one of the most popular photographs of racial politics is that of Laura Nelson being hanged from a bridge. "Isn't it awful?" is usually the minimum, and "See what white people did?" is the more generic. In reality, Laura Nelson murdered a police officer, both she and her son confessed to the crime.

The facts about lynching are these:

• It was a different day and time, and the police were not as firmly established or ubiquitous as they now are.
•Lynchings happened in all sorts of places, in 43 states.
•A third of those lynched were white
• 23% of lynching were what we think of as lynchings- the rest were public executions for crimes committed.

My people were also indentured servants who went on to owe one slave whom they sold because they were poor and they inherited him. He was 8 or so because they had no idea, and neither did he, or they didn't ask, when he was born. Because you do that with members of your family -rolls eyes-

But indentured servants sign contracts, have laws protecting them from abuse (specifically branding of the face), get to keep their children, get to name their children, and get compensation for their work at the end of their indenture. Slaves get none of that.
Buying a slave is close but not exactly the same as buying a car; you pay its owner and use it for a task. It doesn't get a choice.

You can read all about it right here. http://www.pbs.org/opb/historydetectives/feature/indentured-servants-in-the-us/

When Anthony Johnson was released from servitude, he was legally recognized as a "free Negro." He developed a successful farm. In 1651 he owned 250 acres (100 ha), and the services of five indentured servants (four white and one black). In 1653, John Casor, a black indentured servant whose contract Johnson appeared to have bought in the early 1640s, approached Captain Goldsmith, claiming his indenture had expired seven years earlier and that he was being held illegally by Johnson. A neighbor, Robert Parker, intervened and persuaded Johnson to free Casor.

Handwritten court ruling.
March 8, 1655
Parker offered Casor work, and he signed a term of indenture to the planter. Johnson sued Parker in the Northampton Court in 1654 for the return of Casor. The court initially found in favor of Parker, but Johnson appealed. In 1655, the court reversed its ruling.[10] Finding that Anthony Johnson still "owned" John Casor, the court ordered that he be returned with the court dues paid by Robert Parker.[11]

This was the first instance of a judicial determination in the Thirteen Colonies holding that a person who had committed no crime could be held in servitude for life.
Anthony Johnson became the first slave owner in America and he was a black man.

Hey Slanted History guy:

1: Not all of Africa is a jungle. Egypt is in Africa. https://www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/africa-physical-geography/

2: You clearly didn't read the book. Spoiler Alert, he escapes, runs away to the Northern States with nothing, you know, because he must have loved slavery I guess. (sarcasm). Go do your summer reading, and yes I know chapter 10 is a long one but you can do it.

3: The country of Liberia was established so former slaves could go back to Africa, and many with means did. But as Douglass was born here, that's like you moving back to whatever country your ancestors were from for some reason. Douglass has no cultural identity to his past, so he can't know, and neither can you, where he is from. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberia

4: This is Whipped Peter. Or Gordon. He was named by his owners so who knows. In any case, this is why he escaped the south. (heads up, if you click on this link, you're going to see a severely scarred person) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_(slave)

5: A jungle is worse than slavery? Having experienced neither I can't really compare them. However people take vacations and voluntarily live one and not the other so I'm pretty sure Jungle beats slavery.

This is what the Confederacy fought for. It's in their constitution. Maybe we don't need a marker supporting it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederate_States_Constitution

Maryland did not secede, but many in the slave holding areas like the lower shore supported the South.

These were Jake Day's comments in the Daily Times the night of the James Yakahomo vigil honoring a black criminal who murdered his WHITE boss.
============

After the presentation, members of the mostly white crowd shared their stories, grievances and feelings about race relations in the area. Salisbury mayor Jake Day said he didn't come to the vigil due to his position, but out of his humanity.

"I'm here to acknowledge what happened and how we as humans treated one another in the past," Day said. "There's some people who think that somethings are best left covered, but I don't understand why they think silence is appropriate. I don't fear vigilantism is coming back today, but I do see that injustice is still a reality.""
=======================

What can be more worse than a white man hating his own race? A white man that accidentally became mayor because no one wanted the position so they allowed this clown to have the position. Jake Day wouldn't have been elected if others were interested in running for that position, but it's low paid job. Jake Day didn't care about it being a low paid job because daddy got him a gravy job at Perdue Farms.

With that said Jake Day obviously hates white people and even more disgusting is the fact that he hates our ancestors. The ancestors that built this city, county, state and country. He thinks your family and your grandfathers and great grandfathers are the lowest scum that walked this county.

So if Jake Day despises your grandparents he obviously despises you.

Don't be stupid. Don't be stupid and vote for Jake Day again.

According to contemporary accounts, Matthew Williams, the man who was lynched, walked into his employer's office and shot the man dead with a shotgun blast to his head. Williams then turned the gun on himself and tried to commit suicide, but only wounded himself and escaped. He was apprehended and brought to a hospital. Later, a lynch mob dragged him out and hanged him. This is a case of vigilante justice; not a "horrible lynching". Williams got justice, just not according to the prescribed legal procedure. To invoke the hanging of a cold blooded murderer as a reason to take down a statue commemorating a Confederate General is insane, but then most of the people who make these kinds of demands are indeed not right in the head.

Leave the monument alone. This fascist attack on history to "cleanse" the past is nothing short of Socialist censorship. Those behind this movement to remove Winder's statute have an ulterior motive. What's next? Dig up all Confederate graves and throw the remains in a landfill? Many of these Marxist militants of perverted political "correctness" will do just that.

Words of "racial justice", "equal opportunity", "voter rights", "human rights", are just codewords for capitulating cowards who know damn well that every Citizen has a right to exist, and prosper from their labors. By having such right, one can worship as they see fit, live their lives as they see fit, or even recognize an ancestor who fought for the Confederacy. They are Americans. Whether you agree with secession or not, the South's right to exist or not, no one has the absolute right to abolish history.

Good, bad, or indifferent, history is history. Over 700, 000 Americans died in that war for their right to exist. Just because some choose to get their fouled panties in a wad and throw terrible temper tantrums, doesn't mean they are right. Maybe they need a real history lesson that isn't warped with half truths or all out lies.

I'm not bowing down to the militants of America's hating left. I am extremely proud of my ancestors who fought and died for while serving in the Confederate States Armed Forces. I choose freely to honor them. And to those who are appalled by it can like it or lump it...

This large lie that the war was over "slavery" has been spewed for over 150 years. But who profited from slavery? Northern states that shipped slaves to America under the Stars and Stripes. Selling slaves in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and other northern cities. Picking Southern cotton for Northern textile mills to make goods for European nations. Get your facts straight about slavery, when Abraham Lincoln owned slaves himself, as well as his cabinet, and his generals. Calling them "house sevants" was the 19th century political correctness term to hide their stained hands.

FACT: In 1861, the Confederate congress banned the new importation of new slaves, while the Northern states imported more. FACT: Abraham Lincoln thought slaves were sub human and not worthy of life. He was going to cleanse America of not equals by sending the freed slaves to Liberia. FACT: From Lincoln, to Sherman, to Grant, to Seward, each and everyone of them despised those they deemed "less equal". Written in their own words, the Union was not about quelling a "rebellion", it was about the destruction of those who they thought was a threat to a mighty omnipotent centralized Federal government.

I apologize for nothing, and will continue to support my ancestors. They fought with bravery, honor, and valor.

Many in the Confederacy had more integrity than our alleged "elected leaders" we are stuck with today.

Deo Vindice. Sic Semper Tyrannus.

Fake Day is a coward and an ass kisser. He was aide de camp to the Adjutant General of the Maryland National Guard - what we called a "bootlicker" when I was in the service. In my day an officer who was arrested for driving while suspended/revoked like Fake Day AT A MINIUM would have had a Letter of Reprimand placed in his permanent personnel file which would be seen each time he went up for promotion. Also his security clearance would be suspended while a re-investigation was done which is another black mark in a personnel file.

He is also a coward. He has NEVER deployed since he as been in the National Guard.

Snowflake Jake doesn't give a damn about this city. Look at his website. All it does is talk about how great he his. He was endorsed by Barrie Parsons Tighlman - the worst mayor this city has had in twenty years. That alone makes him suspect in my eyes.

JT, you have the right to support anyone you want. It's a free country. But take a closer look at this fraud and ask yourself if he merits your support when he is only out for himself and the city (and its residents) be damned.

Fake Day is just using the mayor's office as a stepping stone to higher political office.

Shame on Susan Parker, Jake Day, James Yakahomo and the Democrat/Progressive Club for being dumb, misguided and ignorant.

I think it's time for us to put together a group of citizens to protest Dr. Lisa Yamakawa's employer with signs showing how she as a Doctor supports her husband who is a racist, anti-Christian and a terrorist. She also supports her husband who is a terrorist supporter of Black Lives Matter. She is a physician who has taken an oath and if she supports her husbands activities then she is a terrorist as well. She is still married to her racist, terrorist husband so by default she supports Black Lives Matters.

As a white person with white children I can no longer take my child to the Childrens Medical Group because I fear for my childrens lives. If someone wants to protest the Childrens Medical Group please let us know and I and my entire family will be there.

Dr. Lisa Yamakawa
Pediatrics
Children's Med Group
217 Phillip Morris Dr
Salisbury, MD 21804
(410) 546-3173

Yeah, threaten his family and their livelihood, surely that is the action of a non-racist, non-extremist, non-terrorist who is 100% not a crazy insane lunatic.

How is it threatening in anyway to let people know the morals of people treating your children and of course you try ti hide behind the shield of racism which you snow flakes through around so much it has lost it's meaning and you aren't even black, Talk about disenfranchising. Then you go around bullying people and calling them racist if they dis agree with you and you bring in an actual terror org and call everyone else an extreme terrorist...It would be laughable if it weren't so sad.

These same groups that are demanding the desecration of historical monuments are the same group that has pushed gay marriage and now the right to have sex with children, So I sure as hell won't let a women married to a man with that kind of beliefs system to treat my child !

Sorry, your comments need to be closer to English for me to read them or take them seriously.

@ 3:11 That's the best you have ?

It's cute how you think you matter. Now go eat more mayonnaise and get eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Anonymous said...

Awww poor snowflake doesn't like the bugs around here...Go back to the city's you have destroyed with your failed policy's.

Anonymous said...

Who the hell doesn't like mayonnaise ?

Anonymous said...

Nothing wrong with mayonnaise, just he doesn't need to eat it strait from the tub with his piggy sweating hands. Maybe is he works really hard he can invest in a spoon.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like someone that wasn't raised properly like a perverted Liberal perhaps one of your relatives.

Is the mayonnaise a Lisa Yamakawa prescription ?

Sentences need punctuation; your syntax is likely the result of pure genealogy due to inbreeding. But please, you were farting out an insult and I interrupted.

Mayonnaise for medicine, sounds like this community to me.

It never ceases to amaze me how prosaic, pedestrian, unimaginative people can persistently pontificate about classical grammatical structure as though it's fucking rocket science. These must be the same people who hate Picasso, because he couldn't keep the paint inside the lines and the colors never matched the numbers.

Anonymous said...

Ha, yes like anyone responding here has seen a Picasso in real life. Grammar has rules and if you want humans to understand you, speak correctly; though I do adore your alliteration, so alluring!

Anonymous said...

You seemed to be able to understand being you responded you lost the discussion so you thought you would go to your safe space of grammar correction in an informal arena, Just shows what an uptight snob you are and are just mad because you had the mic dropped on your head.

x The first part is too unintelligible. Perhaps you mean to say, " You seem to understand the direction of the comments but need a safe space of grammatical corrections to retreat to a place of comfort in this informal blog." I guess because I went to school beyond the third grade, that makes me elite. It does compared to you, but this is supposed to be a news source, how informal do you want to get.

x "an informal arena; it just..." or "an informal arena. It just..."

I'm not mad, I'm using you for my own demented pleasure to charge me up before a I take a run because I need to dip my toes into the piss puddle you call your intellect to remind me of how far this country has not progressed.

Who cares about your little pet peeves this an informal board if you want to go to English than go back to school this is the real world and you need to know how to live in it. You can always tell when you best a liberal they look for grammar mistakes and are usually wrong as in this case...LOL
