Man JT the 40's, 50's and 60's were bustling times for Downtown....businesses that were thriving and lined both sides of the street!!! People out walking the sidewalks chatting and greeting other people....times have really changed, and not for the better!!!

Had to be before the war. All the people are dressed for warm weather. But war was on everyone's mind.

If you're not afraid to walk the streets of Salisbury at night, you must be a thug. They leave each other alone.

Sounds like some real narrow minded racists follow your blog. I am almost ashamed that I live with these scallywags!

Anonymous said...

How does an old picture of downtown Salisbury turn into an issue of race? It seems like every article posted on this blog and "others" turns into an issue of race. I wonder if this is the purpose?

Anonymous said...

ONE THING ABOUT THAT PICTURE EVERYTHING IN IT WAS MADE BY AMERICANS FOR AMERICANS IN AMERICA.

After reading the comments now I understand your competency level!!! SMH

George Garvin said...

Really Mr. 7:30pm!!!! Where did you attain that information? What is your yearly salary? Do you have a College degree? Also, it would be nice for you identify yourself so everyone can see what a racist that you are!!! Go crawl back under your rock!!!!

George Garvin said...

Mr. 7:42pm I totally agree. Also, they consistently keep their names anonymous. You would think that the publisher of this newspaper would block all of the racist comments. I thought that all comments are screened prior to publishing?

bayman said...

He's right.

1942. Read before you comment.

That really is a cool photo. I remember the two gas stations being on the corner as a kid, the Texaco station on the left. This was in the days before a bunch of traffic lights too.

Walk down Delaware Avenue during the day and see what you say then. Mr. tough guy.

bayman said...

You're right. They are a bunch of Baltimoron's.

bayman said...

Africa doesn't want them in their country. They do not consider them,"African".
