The article I read said the driver was okay & standing on top of the cab of the truck.

The driver was on the cab and rescued by the coast guard but died en route to the hospital.

That's a RRSS.

Such a shame. He survived the wreck, climbed to the top of the cab and was rescued. Then passed on the way to the hospital.. Prayers going out to all his family and friends RIP.

Cold x high wind = hypothermia. Also, not to be ridiculous, the weight of the driver factored in as well.If he was real slender & had near zero body fat, which would be a 180 from myself,he would not have lasted as long. There are actually those times when overweight people like myself make out better.Does anyone know how far Norfolk is from the scene of the accident? A Navy helicopter would have come from Norfolk wouldn't it? And can anyone estimate how long the helicopter response would have taken?
