Verizon Still Ignoring Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department On Exorbitant Line Move Cost

Friends, this sums it all up. Verizon's exhorborant prices for a 5013c-non profit, ALL VOLUNTEER fire company to rework our lines that are less than 75 yards in distance so we can build our new station. If we have to pay the $73,000 they are asking from us then something in our budget is going to take a hit. Our fundraising money buys $500k fire trucks, $200k ambulances plue outfitting them and also takes care of our PRECIOUS PONIES that every one loves. We cannot understand how this company can justify these prices. They have a monopoly in this area and we are being taken advantage of. We are talking about a fire company that serves the island, surrounding areas with fire and rescue services and when we roll up to the scene be it on an ambulance or an engine, we want to roll up with the best equipment and best training money can buy. Do you know what $73,000 can buy us to help our community? 36 pairs of turnout gear for our firefighters, 61 pager/radio combinations, 5 stretchers for the ambulances, 2 years of Vet/other care services for the ponies, 10 defibrilators and so on and so on. We have written to them and asked for a better price, we were firm in our letter that we feel we are being taken advantage of with their price. We asked them to get back with us within 10 days.............Nothing. No letter, no phone call, no email.............Nothing.

Th y don't owe you a fucking explanation. Do you go to Walmart and demand an explanation why milk is $3.00 a gallon? No. They are a business. You asked for a quote, they gave it and you don't like it. Deal with it. They don't owe you an explanation. They don't owe you shit. Fucking liberals think everybody should bow down to them and that they can shame a business through social media. I personally hope they flat out refuse to help you because you e been an asshole to them. They don't OWE you shit!!! Get over yourself.

Agree. Please realize that being a non profit does not mean you will or should get a discount

You asked them to get back to you in 10 days. Who do you think you are? They are conducting business and you are just another customer. You have no right to put demands on ANYONE!!!

Yeah, I get it. You want the BEST equipment. So does everyone else. However, you work within your budget. You say that, if you didn't have to pay 73k, you could buy other things. Well...duh. If I didn't have a mortgage I could afford a Ferrari. That's how life works. You are OWED nothing and you DESERVE nothing. I truly hope Verizon doesn't help you AT ALL. The way your department has treated them is childish, ridiculous and petty.

Verizon is just like their counter parts, Comcast and Delmarva Power, pay it or do without...that's not the same with a Walmart where if you don't like the cost go to another store. These utilities know they got you by the nads...you are a idiot 1:22 and 2:10 to think any different. You probably aren't even from Chincoteague just on flapping your fat welfare fingers!

Whoever wrote this is a piece of shit. I agree with the first comment, They don't owe you any explanation. And 75 yards? You are a moron to the 100th degree. Stick to putting out fires you moron. Go Verizon

Yeah, funny you guys listed your "old" station for sale for 1.26 MILLION dollars. Who is trying to rape people in this scenario? Who has buyers by the "nads" on this. Here is the problem, whoever you used for "planning" this project didn't do their fucking job and call Berizon to see what the costs were ahead of time. That is part of the PLANNING process. Blame that person. Verizon has done NOTHING wrong and doesn't owe you a DAMN thing. Trust me, I pay enough to Verizon AND Verizon Wireless and it sucks to defend them. However, they are correct in this matter. I pay their fees because they provide excellent service. Better than anyone else. It costs money to do business and it costs money for quality work and products. Just because you are a fire department doesn't mean you get everything for free. You already get free cable television under the Homeand Security Act (all police and fire get free TV). Quit terrorizing a business because you can't get something for free or at a reduced cost.

So, when I go down to the carnival next year and I think $9.00 is too high of a price for an oyster sandwich, I can negotiate a better price? And, if the person serving it doesn't comply, I can write a letter to the fire department demanding to know the costs of their oysters, the transportation costs and all costs associated with that sandwich, in writing within 10 days. And, you guys will provide that? That's is what you have done to Verizon. I'm sure my letter to you would get properly addressed. You are indeed idiots.

You're right. I'm not from Chincoteague. But, I come down there quite often to shag the wives and girlfriends of the the members of the fire department. Ask around. They know who I am. They all call me "daddy" while you're hanging out with your buddies on the big red ding ding praying for an alert.

I bet I could cut $75,000 out of your new building plans, without degrading your ability to fight fires or do any other rescue work. I bet there are more than a few frills in the plans that are not directly linked to firefighting and rescue work. What say you post the plans, and let us see just what you are wanting to build.

By the way, does the fire company get any money from taking care of the PRECIOUS PONIES?

Should churches get free phone service from Verizon, after all, they take care of precious SOULS?

Perfect analogy

Hey Chincoteague VFD:

Cat got your tongues? Keyboards frozen up? Or are you taking the frills out of the plans before you post them?
