Salisbury Police Lose Another Great Officer

Former SPD Officer Zach Converse second from left has taken a new job with the Worcester County Sheriff Department. If you don't remember Officer Converse was the one hit head on by a fleeing suspect last year in Salisbury. We just keep on losing the good ones.

Why hasn't Jake Day or ANYONE on the City Council addressed this issue and make some changes. It is everyone of those who sit on the council's fault for not addressing this. You can blame Jake Day all you want for not doing what he promised (which will haunt him come time for reelection) but it also you should also hold those seated on council as well. They too should feel the impact when their term comes up for election. The Police Department and the Fire department need to be restricted with leadership. This can't be done months before an election bc we know how obvious that is going to be. FIX THIS MAYOR AND COUNCIL< ITS YOUR FAULT NOW

If you don't know by now.....Day is out of his comfort zone. He has no knowledge about how an effective Police or Fire Department should be run therefore he relies on the "old Regime" to tell him how well they are doing while in reality a lot of good men and women are seeking employment with other departments. He had better grow a pair....or its one and done. Doing nothing doesn't solve problems!!!!

Good for you Zack! Be safe and careful.

3 more will be leaving SPD for Worcester Sheriff within the month. I think that will make 8 officers in the last 4 months and that is only Worcester. Day does nothing!

Day loves Duncan. Maybe in the literal sense. No other reasonable thought come to my mind. She is a nice person but she is not a leader or in any sense a Chief of a city with the problems we have. Wake up Jake, pull yourself together soldier.

We need concealed carry... I just saw a young black women almost attack an old lady leaving Walmart, thank goodness the old woman was already in her car and could get away.

They need to bring Chief Webster back.

No they need to promote from within. If Jake was smart he would beg Ivan to come back. I get what Duncan is trying to do it just will not work here. She should consider a College up North. This city needs a fair hard nosed cop. This is no place for a politician or social worker. It just will not work.

Not necessarily from within but that Devil Dog Jim Pilchard worked at SPD and retired a trooper. He could straighten up the city pd and the city. I've heard jake is shopping for a new chief anyway. It's all around our department that he is looking. Maybe that's why everyone in the 3rd floor is cutting each other's throats to save their jobs. E left a little early. If he could have stuck it out for a few more months he could have been the major or assistant chief. All of us liked him and Kolb new it that's why he pushed him into retirement.

They just lost the female recruiter, who had less than 6 months on, to Pocomoke.

Pilchard is just like Kolb. Why did he leave Snow Hill so soon. I say no to any retired Troopers from this region. Maybe across the bridge.
