Letter To Editor Regarding Murdered Prisoner And ECI link.

"Hi Jon....here's something you may be interested in.

Benjamin Hall was the inmate killed at MCIH in Hagerstown, he was from Salisbury and grew up with my son. My son talked with his mother yesterday who told him that Bennie called her on Monday and said "they were going to kill him", but she thought he was just being paranoid. It seems Bennie was 1 of 6 inmates at ECI who were used as informants in the CO scandal recently and was moved to MCIH just as the indictments were handed down last week. The cover story used by the prison was that inmate Hall was moved to Hagerstown to receive chemo treatments...an absolute lie. It would seem the prison system should've protected him better or placed him into segregation at the very least. My son is devastated by the loss of his friend and Ben's mother is vowing to hold the prison system responsible, but isn't sure anyone would admit to her son's role in the investigation or co-operate in any way. It would seem that she could get a recording of the prison phone call placed by her son on Monday, but I'm not sure they'd be willing to co-operate. My son says he has no doubt what she's saying is true considering how angry and distraught she was on the phone. I thought I'd let you know because no one else is going to put any effort into an inmate being murdered. "

Not a doubt in my mind he was murdered. when inmates are used as informants they need to be protected. This definitely needs to be kept alive in the media and needs to be investigated.

Anonymous said...

The fact that he was murdered for his role in the investigation is obvious to anyone that knows this...

Hope those guards are proud of themselves!

When a woman gets paid for getting laid it never ends well.No home training whatsoever = a career in prison.Prisons are full of pay for play victims.

The corruption in the state prison system goes much further up then what was uncovered at ECI ! Ben's death was a contract murder and could have been prevented but someone was covering their ass big time !

Anonymous said...

The FEDS need to find out what compound he was on I am pretty sure RAYFIELD OR HANKERSON had something to do with it both of them were big time players in this corruption we can only hope they get enough federal time so other officers will think twice before they get involved.

Anonymous said...

They will cover their asses on this. As everyone knows all calls are recorded but I guarantee you, the calls placed by the inmate will be lossed or the recording system will have been broken on those days. I hope no-one seriously buys into that if that happens!!!

Anonymous said...

Outrageous. The black gangs run prisons in this state and the whole damn system is corrupt. Why in hell was this boy anywhere near other prisoners? The state DOC will lie and claim otherwise, but Ben Hall's death is on their hands!!!

For one he transferred about a year ago to that jail so you are an idiot. And "guards" you mean officers. The few of us left their who bust our ass day in day out to feed and support our families would love to see you step inside the prison walls for one shift and see how long you last working there. I love how yal can sit behind the computer and make up stories to make yourself feel relavent. Good day sir

Anonymous said...

Maybe he shouldn't have been in prison to begin with.

Anonymous said...

Don't let the actions of the dirty officers they found dictate how everyone feels about the rest of the officers who wear the badge with honor and take pride in their job. It is unfortunate for anyone to lose their life

and you should not be commenting when your a guard and that's a fact

Wait u.til hillary lets all the thugs out of prison.

You must watch your back at all times from the inmates as well as the CO's. It's very sad what happened to Ben and if he was an informant MCI-H should have had him on PC.the CO's are there for the safety of the inmates, lmao.,,Steve Bass

12:11 How rude of you to make nasty comments that have nothing to do with the case!!! Someone lost their child! At least pretend you have a heart and some manners. The DOC used him and when they had no more use for him he was killed. If a multi million dollar drug ring can happen,so can murder for sale.

Anonymous said...

So you get murdered because you are in jail for theft? I'll pray for you. Sure you have or are doing something illegal maybe you should have went to jail for but didn't get caught. Get a grip

Anonymous said...

Maybe more should step up and tell what they see day in day out. Or how other "officers" treat fellow "officers"

Bonnie Ward said...

It's makes me wonder if a CO didn't contract his death and the inmate took it out .I knew Ben very well he was a,half brother to me kids

Bonnie Ward said...

Really what gives you the right to say that. He was a good guy that got in trouble. It could happen to anyone. So check yourself brfore asking that stupid question.

I'm a retired Captain from Maryland's prison system, any innate who is in any danger is placed on Protective Custody whether voluntary or involuntary,99% of the officers do a great job and the safety and security of the inmates is the top priority. Those corupt officers from ECI were turned in from a tip by a good officer, the investigation took a while to gather evidence due to the number of people involved. The Maryland State Police has jurisdiction over the homicide involving the young inmate and a thorough investigation will be conducted.

Why the hell is Hillary being brought into this and why are black people being labeled as thugs and dragged down? Ben was a good friend to me and others going back to middle school years. No one should have to be labeled or dragged down just because they mad a bad choice. Good people make bad decisions all the time. No matter if their red, white, black, purple, green, blue or polkadotted. The problem with everyone is they see color before the true value of a person, they see what they did wrong as opposed to just realizing that everybody has made mistakes. We hear the scandal about ECI and all COs are now questioned about their integrity. My issue is if he made a call and if he assisted with the arrests, then why did he get over looked as far as getting the protection he needed? That's what pisses me off. That is what my focus is on. As should everyone else. An inmate should be looked at as free gain or trash just because they made bad decisions. Its not our job to write people off. Stop being so damn evil, hateful and spiteful.

I know for a fact that some of the officers are just as corrupt as the ones incarcerated. They all are " family" and take up for each other even when it's wrong! It's a shame what happened to Mr Hall... But things go on at ECI that shouldn't happen at all! My Ex is a CO... He was having an affair with another CO who was married. They used the Lieutenants office to have sex. Also closets.... The female CO gave my Ex oral sex on the State van on their way to a funeral for a fallen officer in Hagerstown back in 2006 as another lieutenant and 6 other officers watched and cheered them on! The only reprimanding they got was.... They transferred the female officer to a different job in Baltimore and my Ex got transferred out of the housing unit and into the Annex... The whole system needs a thorough overhauling! It's a shame a life had to be lost to get everyines attention

FACT said...

13% of the BLACK POPULATION make bad decisions.

Anonymous said...

Lol maybe before you comment you proofread or get dictionary. *left there* not their. Relevant not relavent. Y'all not yal.Wow

Anonymous said...

Mr. Officer, How could you possibly know exactly when he was transferred? Do you have the mental capacity to remember the release dates and transfers of every inmate you've ever been in charge of? Did you search his name at work today? What was the trigger that caused you to remember exactly when this particular inmate was transferred? Why are you so defensive?? And finally, why is it that you have answers that no one else seems to have?? Please enlighten us.

Anonymous said...

My point exactly 547. These "officers" know more than they should or are hiding things daily. As a family member of an "officer" I hear of the terrible ass kissing and favortism that goes on daily.

Anonymous said...

Maryland inmate locator is shut down since indictments too

My kids knew Ben. He was transferred long before the ECI deal went down.

Everyone who is in jail is not a thug! Majority of Md corrections inmates are non violent offenders, people are human and we all make mistakes. Know your facts before you reply.

I guarantee that many not involved knew something was going on and just turned a blind eye. I hear that others not involved are quick to take up for those involved. Guards need to stand up for what's right and not support criminal activity that cast all guards in the same light as those who are guilty.

How long is long?? The Eci deal took 3 years to colaberate.

Anonymous said...

If you keep out of jail and keep to yourself you won't end up in there fighting for your life...people make choices..these choices lead to consequences..unfortunately your life is sometimes on the line.

Anonymous said...

When did anyone mention the word black? Stop bringing race into this. The person said thugs not "black" thugs!

Anonymous said...

I think everyone needs to stop attacking the officers considering inmates kill inmates on a daily basis. They have people on the outside that find out anything they want! From where people live, to who their family r and if someone is snitching. I think it should be looked at as an inmate to inmate death before an officer and even then u can't assume anything

Anonymous said...

If you do illegal things, theft, drugs, murder, then you are locked up in Correctional facility you should keep your nose clean, do your time and get the hell out and straighten up your life. If you are incarcerated and then join a gang....you will not fair well with these thugs no matter what you think or are promised....sad but true.

Not even 6 months ago he was at JCI in Jessup and was put on PC because he owed ALOT of other inmates ALOT of money.. it's very sad what happened to him.. and my heart goes out to his family and friends and especially his children.. Ben was a good guy who made a few bad decisions.

Anonymous said...

What an insensitive thing to say... Especially with his friends and family reading this. Ben made mistakes that led to him going to prison... He was not a bad person...he just made bad choices. And I certainly hope that you never find yourself or someone you love in a situation where a bad choice lands you or them in prison. Bad things happen to good people every day.

Anonymous said...

Who says yes to being a snitch in prison?

Anonymous said...

Not sure I trust many that work at ECI. this is appalling and staff need to police themselves. Sounds like hiring practices need to be reviewed.

Anonymous said...

Innocent people go to jail everyday , so what your saying is not even legit !

I was getting close with Ben he got in contact with my kids cause they were his siblings .they knew him when they were little but lost contact and Ben found them through Facebook he is a great young man he just got in trouble. Something that can hapoen to anyone. And anyone that has anything bad to say about him needs to watch it .I loved him was building a relationship with him then we didn't hear anything and didn't know what had happened. I'll miss him greatly. So the idiot that posted maybe he shouldn't have been in prison needs to check there self

Ben was a young man with hope of a better future. He was taking responsibility for his poor choices and looking ahead. He has left three beautiful children behind along with a loving mother, brother and extended family and many friends. In his letters to his daughter, her mother and us, he shared many wonderful drawings and plans. They are devastated by this loss. Ben was a talented artist and wanted to both write and illustrate stories once he was released. He shared his worries about the upcoming chemo, but was clear that he wanted to get better and live. To his mother and family: I am so sorry for your loss. We are grieving with you. To his children: your dad spoke about each of you in his letters as miracles he was so very proud to have had a part in - and he genuinely longed to make up for time wasted. He really loved you and was proud to hear anything and everything he could about you!

Sorry Officer/guard whatever you want to be called. I call you criminals the only that separates you from the cons is the clothes you wear. So you tell me no one knew. It took the Feds to break this up. Clean house I say. Corrupt turds.

I don't understand why any of you are even arguing on here. Behind a screen. None of this matters. Unless it's your way to vent and get it out! Otherwise your words on here are nothing but words.... everyone with a hateful comment should take a step back and look at yourself.... this is a tragedy. This young man lost his life. Yes he was in prison. And who knows maybe he did help in the investigation but none of us on here are helping in anyway by writing comments that are negitive. If anything you should be sending your prayers to his kids his parents his family... If you have information or if you're Hell bent on speaking about it then do it to the proper people to help spread the word or help move the investigation along! No one is looking on here for answers. This letter was posted to put it out there about the severity of the situation and to get us to open our eyes and push this further so the right people see it and find out what really happened!!!

Typical bleeding heart fucking liberal ooen your front door BITCH snd take Them in ?

Anonymous said...

ECI is a bad deal for sure!! People who work there are just as bad as the ones they are watching! How do drugs get in a prison

Anonymous said...

Wouldn't that make him your uncle? Just say my "uncle"

Anonymous said...

Funny how everyone in prison is a "good guy who made a few bad decisions". He's a fucking criminal. Quit sugar coating it.

Anonymous said...

Typical liberal shit. He is IN JAIL. He shouldn't be using "Facebook". He should be out there pounding rocks with a sledgehammer or digging holes. He should have been being PUNISHED for his crimes. Just like he punished those that he victimized with his illegal activities. Instead, he is sitting around fucking off on Facebook. SMH

Anonymous said...

I've never seen any purple, blue or polkadotted people. You must be using LSD and hallucinating.

Anonymous said...

So, because his family didn't have enough common sense to have life insurance on him, it's now everyone else's burden to pay for his funeral? What the fuck is going on with society? Pay for your own funeral!!!

Anonymous said...

Holy shit. A "go fund me" page for his funeral? Really? Let me get this straight, he is IN JAIL for COMMITTING A CRIME. As a tax payer, I'm already paying for his shetter, food, clothing and entertainment while he is incarcerated. He has children that he is not providing for because he chose a life a crime. Yes, that is correct, he CHOSE to commit a crime. He is sitting in prison and I am paying for it and he has left his children with no support. I'm sure, public assistance is helping them in SOME way because of his decisions. Now you want people to pay for his funeral too? Holy shit

Anonymous said...

You're a IDIOT! Not everyone that works there is bad! Carry your punk ass there and see if you can handle walking around hundreds of convicts with just a radio, pepper spray and radio

Anonymous said...

You actually have more than a radio, pepper spray and a radio (ridiculous you said "radio" twice). We all know you have your lips. It is common knowledge you use them to blow the inmates to keep from getting your ass whipped.

Anonymous said...

EXACTLY!!!

Anonymous said...

Honestly couldn't think you would be able to hide ...if it was because of ECI .. then the day he made that decision is the day he was actually already killed unfortunately...

Anonymous said...

Kids now will have a better life and not be dragged down...

There's HOPE IN DOPE said...

The risk of being a snitch it comes with the game

Anonymous said...

This is why you do not trust the state or involve yourself as a witness. If it isn't your problem stay out of it.
