Governor Hogan Best Thing To Happen To Maryland And Yet More Bitching About His No Show In Cleveland For RNC

There is no doubt that Governor Hogan has been the best thing to happen to Maryland in a long time. The guy has been to the Eastern Shore more times than I think every Governor combined and yet still all people want to talk about the past 2 weeks is his decision to not attend the RNC In Cleveland for the nomination of Donald Trump.

Donald Trump is a very divisive person that is a fact. There are some Republicans that supported Ted Cruz or others who simply just feel they can't get behind Trump. I think many of these people will simply not vote. Ultimately it is up to the individual to decide if they can be supportive of Trump's ideas. Governor Hogan is one of those who simply doesn't care to support Trump. I think if you really want to get to why the Republican party struggles to win against the Democrats its this nonsense happening against Governor Hogan.

I won't support him next time, he should be in Cleveland representing Maryland, he's a Traitor, RINO, blah blah blah. Governor Hogan is the Governor of Maryland, he doesn't support Trump so he decided to spend the day with the good people of Crisfield (In Maryland BTW). We had a Republican delegation there who represented Maryland and cast their votes for Trump since he won the state. Everything was good in Cleveland and Hogan spent more time with the Marylander's he Governs.

This craziness of now hating on the man who has done so much and shown us on the Shore how much he cares about us as well is really sad. Governor Hogan and I got a chance to talk yesterday and I told him how I totally respected his decision and that it showed he wasn't just a sheep following the herd. Can we please just learn to respect each others opinions without all this nonsense.

He has more to offer here at home, like selfies with a bunch of "Johnny come lately" folks. In fact, he has no place at the RNC.
In regards to the very last sentence in your spew of words, respect mine!

We are not voting for Trump. We're voting against Billary. How hard can that be to understand?

I don't understand why just because he comes here makes him the best thing to happen to the Eastern Shore.

I'm not exactly sure what Hogan has done. Take the rain tax for instance. The general thinking is that Hogan repealed it and that is what he wants people to think. The reality is the rain tax is very real in the state as he only took the state mandate out and left the decision to have it or not to local governments most of which are democrat strongholds anyway. Why doesn't he put education decisions in the hands of the local governments instead of the state. That would be a positive move.

Donald Trump is no more "divisive" then any other person on the face of the earth. Divisive is like racism. Anytime anyone hears something they don't want to hear they said it's divisive. Trump speaks the truth too and that is what so many don't like. Most people do not like hearing the truth.

Never say "never" Oh how many times I have read on blogs

"I will NEVER support him/her AGAIN"
"I will NEVER eat there AGAIN"
"I will NEVER shop there AGAIN"
"I will NEVER _________ etc.

Truth be known 80% made themselves liars by saying "NEVER" and 1/2% died before they had the chance to "NEVER" and 5% had NEVER voted, eat there, shopped there, etc., in the first place while 14% were too drunk/drugged up to remember they even said NEVER leaving 1/2% actually being true to their word.

Can't agree with you on this one JT! The exact reason why Republicans cannot win the Presidency is the fractured state of its representatives.....he is hurting the party and as a State we will feel the backlash if a Dem wins again....IN MY OPINION HE IS A LOSER!

Nope you are wrong. Hogan's function and role by his own choosing is to represent the people. The people spoke and in record numbers voted for Trump as their nominees. The only nonsense is that Hogan is just another politician whose word means nothing. And NO I will not respect anyone who can't stand by their word and if you can JT then it shows you yourself have major character flaws.

In my personal opinion anyone who just walks in step because they are a republican or a democrat or a whatever and won't think for themselves is a party sheep. Doesn't matter if he's a rapist he's a republican he has my vote. That's the kinda ridiculous stuff that got us where we are today

Hogan's his own man, and I'm proud that he is. He's done a hell of a job so far in Maryland.

Fact is, Trump's the most liberal Republican Presidential candidate in the party's history. Think that "Massachusetts Moderate" was liberal? Look at Trump's positions. 35% of the party voted for him. That's it. 35%.

Rain Tax is now called stormwater management

Wait a minute JT!!! I thought just a couple of months ago you were done with crisfield!?!?! You just can't get enough of us can you?

Walking in step with the people you promised to represent is being a sheep? No it's called being a person who stands by their word. When you choose to be a representative of the people you lose your right to think exclusively for yourself and act solely on your own emotions. The will of the people comes first and your opinion is second.

While we use democratic processes to elect representatives and pass new laws, we are not a democracy. We are a Republic-"and to the Republic for which it stands....."
In a Republic, the people have no obligation to elected officials; instead the elected official is a servant of the people. They are obligated to their owner who is We the People. You are not your own person anymore. You gave your individual identity away (by your own choice) to those who elected you.
Politicians have forgotten this and so have many people.

I wouldn't be so confident JT. Put a strong democrat up against him and he's done. The only reason he won was because democrat voters didn't come out and vote in strong numbers and the GOP did. Dem voter turnout was low, GOP up. The MD voters could very well pull a Romney on him and not come out next time so strongly to vote. That's why Romney lost the presidency. Put a strong primary candidate and he could lose that too. He won with 42%. Yes there were 3 other contenders but the majority of voters weren't w/Hogan to begin with. They did end up supporting him obviously but he wasn't their first choice. Hogan isn't as beloved as you think.

I like gov. Hogan but anybody who is a republican and won't vote for Trump it become a vote Hillary. Trump was not my first choice but now I will vote for him.

Leave Gov. Hogan alone. He made the right decision and there aren't any crabs in Cleveland (the Mistake on the Lake) anyway.

I am continually amazed by some of the comments on here. Not all Republicans, nor all Democrats, vote a straight party ticket at a general election. SOME of us actually do some research, and reading, and listening, and make up our own minds on who to vote for. We vote for who we believe to be the Best Person for the job.
I believe Gov. Hogan mad his own choice in not going to the convention. And come election day, he will vote as he sees fit, not how you Anonymous people tell him to. Good for him.

Anonymous said...

You are confused and ill informed Sharon. It's not about who he votes for. It's about his decision to not attend as a representative of those in MD who voted for Donald Trump. What you SHOULD be "amazed" at are those including yourself who either never learned or have forgotten the role of an elected official. People like you are all that is wrong in this country. Hogan's opinion doesn't count. He gave that up when he was elected. What about the will of the people don't you understand? Also it would benefit you to NOT assume that everyone votes party line.

He did not support the Republican nominee, whichb means he supports the Democrat...in an election that will decide the fate of this country. He is a RINO. I will not vote for him again.

If Hogan votes for Clinton and doesn't support Trump then it only proves one thing and that is he is not the man he pretends to be. He's a fake and a phooey and quite frankly not a good person for fooling the voters of MD. A disgrace to not only himself but to his family for being such a fake.

That's what RINOS do!!!
