I am glad to see the City demo these old structures instead of just abandoning.....been there a long time.

Abuse of funds to demo that solid structure. The city could have used it for many things. You call it a good move due to it's age and call it historical when older.

Yeah, nah, it's not an abuse of funds when the only reason our fire company could get a new fire station was to have a family donate the land across the street and swap the land that the old station was on. As a member of station 2, I can tell you there simply wouldn't be a new fire station if we didn't do the swap. Also, it was NOT and SOLID structure. The entire reason for a new building was that we literally had to abandon the building during any major storm because it is in such poor shape. So, you can talk out of school all you want about it, but people who know know you're wrong.

Hurry up and tear it down before it can be used as a homeless veterans shelter.

I passed by there a couple of weeks ago and was really impressed by the new Staion 2 building and grounds. If anyone deserves it, I certainly believe that firemen and police do. Congratulations to Station 2 and I thank you for what you do.

WTF are you talking about?

What a F*n WASTE!! There was absolutely nothing wrong with that building. I was a member of that station and I can tell you that it was in great shape and could have been used for something.

Something else to consider is that Station 2 could have stayed in that building for another 50 years.

Shame on Jake Day, Jim Ireton and the idiots who voted to support this. This is just wrong.

You are full of SHIT! If you had to abandon that building during a storm then you would have had to abandon that building a long time ago.

What storms did you have to abandon that building for?? We haven't had any real storms.

By the way what is your name Mr. Station 2 volunteer?

No, it's more like hurry up and tear it down before they find out that it is really in good shape and Rick Hoppes, Bill Gordy, Jim Ireton and Jake Day lied to you.

Because they would have had to back pedal on their "It isn't safe" mantra.
