NEW FOREVER STAMP FEATURES ASSATEAGUE PONIES

The United States Postal Service is releasing a new commemorative stamp featuring a familiar scene on Assateague Island National Seashore.  The new “forever” stamp has a photograph of two wild ponies grazing in the saltwater marsh, and will be revealed at a ceremony Thursday morning, June 2, 2016.

The stamp is one of 16 commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, and will be revealed at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the elevated boardwalk in the North Beach parking lot.  If you wish to attend the ceremony, entrance fees on the Maryland end of Assateague will be waived.
