Joel Todd A True Gentleman And Friend

As the Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office bids farewell to Senior State's Attorney Joel Todd, I wanted to take this chance to share my feelings on my friend and true gentlemen to the eastern shore.

The first time I ever met Joel Todd was at Christine Sheddy's funeral. I had heard about all the great things he had done to help the family from my other friend Lynn Dodenhoff.

As a Wicomico County resident, I wasn't that familiar with Worcester County where Joel was the State's Attorney. I had heard about Joel and his quality of character and meeting him only showed all that was true and then some. Joel had made the news right before I met him for doing the right thing which wasn't popular at the time, and that was not letting then Wicomico County State's Attorney Davis Ruark walk away from a DWI with no consequences like the rest of the world does.

That my friends is true character. Doing what is right even when others think you should turn the other cheek. Right is right and wrong is wrong there should be no gray area for people in elected positions.

I have met many people in my far too many years doing this site and Joel Todd is one of a handful that I can say I honestly trust and admire for being not only a great prosecutor but a good man as well. Wicomico and Worcester County...no the entire Eastern Shore will miss having a great man of your character around full time.

I have gotten very few good things for getting into this business but one of the best gifts was getting you as a friend.

A true class act. The come here's got hoodwinked by his Republican successor, but Wicomico gained through Worcester's loss. Best wishes and ENJOY your well deserved retirement.
