U.S. Navy F-18F Super Hornet joins OC Air Show

Those going to Ocean City’s annual air show  can expect see another act now that the U.S. Navy F-18F Super Hornet has joined the event.

The OC Air Show, which is scheduled for June 18 and 19 over the beach and boardwalk of Ocean City, will be one of only 10 air shows on the entire East Coast to feature a full capabilities demonstration of the U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet, also known as the “Rhino,” according to a press release.

“The F-18F Super Hornet added yet another marquee military jet demo to this year’s performer line up” Bryan Lilley, president of the Ocean City Air Show, said in the release. “We’re happy to have the U.S. Navy supporting the event once again in 2016.”

The Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet is a twin-engine fighter aircraft based on the original McDonnell Douglas F-18 Hornet also known as the “Legacy Hornet,” according to the release. The Super Hornet is a larger and more advanced version of the legacy hornet.
