Maryland Primary Election Information

Good morning,

Many of the newspapers and other media in Maryland published reminders about the April 5th registration deadline for the upcoming primaries.
However, there has been very little awareness spread about the fact that this year, for the first time ever, Maryland is offering same-day registration during early voting (from April 14th - April 21st).
The decision to make this available was part of a voting expansion bill passed in 2013. See:
The 'same-day registration during early voting' part of this bill only went into effect January 1st, 2016 this year, which is why many people are not aware of it.

It means that if you are not currently registered to vote in Maryland you can still do so during early voting.
To register during Early Voting you can go to an early voting center in your county, they are listed in this document:
They are open from 10AM until 8PM from Thursday, April 14th until Thursday, April 21st.
When registering during early voting you have to bring a document that proves where you live.
This document can be your MVA-issued license, ID card, or change of address card, or your paycheck, bank statement, utility bill, or other government document with your name and address.
Please note that this is only for registering to vote for the first time or changing your registration address, it is not possible to change party affiliation during early voting (the deadline for that was April 5th 2016).

I think it is important to share the above information for people who might have missed the April 5th deadline. Would you be able to share this?

Please, don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
