Does the Salisbury Police Department Need This Armored Vehicle?

This vehicle shown is set to be discussed at a council meeting to be approved for use by the department. Your thoughts?

If crime is down, the lie that the dept and the Mayor's office is peddling, why would they need this?

There is nothing wrong with it being there. you never know when the S&!t will hit the fan. Dont go bashing things that will help the street cops because the admin is messed up.

Yep because the race wars are coming this summer and I can't wait for the Welfare gravy train to End.

I guess I would have to say yes...the crime around these neighborhoods, unexplained deaths, killing of drug dealers....I say they should be prepared. The County Sheriffs Department has a unit or units as well as the MSP that can provide backup support!

It's there as a resource IF NEEDED to allow police to handle even the worst of situations in an efficient and effective manner before further loss of life and injuries..ie...active shooter at school, manhunt of armed subject, mental subject with weapons, etc. Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it

A good example why its necessary would be your post about subject at school w grenades. IF that is an actual situation an armored truck might be instrumental in evacuating kids under protection

I think it looks like an armored hearse. Yeah, we need that!

Lose that antique and get a M-RAP from the military like Sheriff Lewis acquired. Duncan has no clue as how to procure a piece of equipment like a M-Rap. If she asked the Sheriff for help he would probably enlighten her.

Yes, in active shooter situation, barricaded subject, this vehicle would enable safe rescue of an officer or other wounded person.

Unfortunately yes this is needed. Besides ourselves our local LE agencies are our best defense and in order for them to protect us, they have to be protected themselves.

Yes they should.

It's there as a "resource if needed" for what? WTF would we need that "resource" for?

Why would they (Salisbury) need one if they could use the Sheriff's MRAP. You people are dumb and ignorant. Salisbury is duplicating services and it is a waste of time, money and valuable resources. We would all be much better off if we could dissolve and merge the Salisbury PD into the WCSO. Better yet, we would be better off to dissolve the City Charter and we would have to merge with the County. Great idea there.

The Sheriff's Office has an MRAP. This is not needed.
