And all those firefighters from the Salisbury Fire Department not following their own safety protocols again! All need to be fired for not donning their SCBA's at least as a minimum!

Oh No! I hope everyone recovers and the cause is found out and corrected.

While we were there, our bus driver was told that there was a chemical outbreak. It was the Stevensville Middle School choir that was first affected. I'm unaware if any of the other choirs were as well. I was part of the choir when the first kid passed out. We were told to continue singing.

If a firefighter runs in unprotected and is overcome or disabled, he can't save one child-not his & not yours.

If he goes in protected, maybe he can save lots of kids even YOURS!

ASSHOLE it's Jt site and if he posts something half ass he should update it.

I GIVE A DAMN YOU DUMBASS!! If they kill themselves for not having the appropriate protective gear on they will not be saving anyones kids you stupid idiot. There are policies for a reason. You must be one of them idiot firemen who believe the rules apply to everyone but them.

Thank you very much you beat me to it!!

Everyone violated their own policy even their Fire Chief Richard A. Hoppes! If Jake Day was any kind of leader he would put that man into retirement for violating the City's own SOP's. Jim Ireton was to stupid to do his job now it looks like Jake Day is following the same lead!

The language on this site is deplorable; yours too JT. It would be nice to keep it respectful & for you to set an example for your commenters.

if some of you dickheads are so into SOP's take your lame a$$es into public service and run for office....maybe you can make a difference....NOT!!!! LOL

I find this hilarious how you are all coming at him and people want to come up with rumors but as a WiHi student that was there, the cause is what JT said. The rumors about other things are untrue and the heat was apparently on because it is the middle of March they later on turned of the AC but some of the students did not eat.

The school was told the structure needed to be evacuated and the school refused to do so . Fire department tried to do their job. The firefighters that were inside did have SCBA on . If firefighters and medics were out side they didn't have to have gear on while treating kids OUTSIDE . Whom ever has said they violated their policy I belive they have not .I believe they did a good job doing their job despite trying to work with school officials that would not comply with the fire department . I'm no firefighter but have family that use to be one and I think they done good . Good response SFD and thanks for what you do.

There was no need to evacuate the school, thats just wasting school time and being extra, and I'm Hally they didn't I have class in that classroom everyday for an hour and all of a sudden everybody wants to act like there's some type of CO2 that magically popped up today you all just want juicy story when the reality is those kids did not eat it was hot and probably locked in their knees while performing because not half of those kids even went in the warm up room...it was just a domino effect

Back in '98 or '99 at cape henolpen, there was a crew working in the roof in the muddle if the day. Couple kids started complaining of a weird smell and next thing you know kids started dropping like flies. Apparently the fumes from whatever was being used on the roof got into the building in turn making kids sick/passing out. A bunch of fire fighters came in the school, none wearing ventilators but they didn't seem to care, they were more concerned clearing out classrooms and directing kids where to go. Certain parts of the school were blocked off because the smell was worse, hence firefights helping direct us. Pretty crazy experience.

Just because you believe in your comment doesn't mean you are true. I was there and I know they violated their SOP's. You must be a 'bury farmin.

You might want to retake your science classes because obviously you didn't learn anything.

CO2 = Carbon Dioxide
CO = Carbon Monoxide

Do you want to try that again!
