Third Bay Bridge Span One Step Closer To Reality

Friends,

As a result of Maryland Senate action, I am very pleased to announce that one of my top legislative priorities for the citizens of the Eastern Shore and Maryland, Senate Bill 56, requiring the Governor and Maryland General Assembly to begin funding the next step necessary for the ultimate construction of a third span crossing the Chesapeake Bay, passed overwhelmingly by a vote of 40-4. This bipartisan action, including leadership of both parties, will strengthen our agriculture and poultry industry, promote tourism, grow our commercial and recreational fishing industries, provide for increased public safety, and ensure greater education opportunities for the students of Salisbury University, UMES, Washington College, Wor-Wic Community College, and Chesapeake College.

I remain dedicated and will continue to work with my Eastern Shore Delegation, Legislative Leadership, colleagues in the House of Delegates, and Governor Hogan to pass and sign into law this vital bill to ensure a continued confidence and bright future for both the people of the Eastern Shore and the great state of Maryland.

Jim

I'm sorry....do us a favor especially those of us who love and live on the Eastern Shore, spend the money on OUR infrastructure!!! Forget a third span, upgrade our roads...all of them. Make funds available to counties for transportation needs here. Give funding to our local law enforcement and fire department organizations for equipment and training. We have experienced more than enough "love" from the western shore....thanks but NO THANKS!

1131-So you don't want "love", but you want their money? The Eastern Shore suckles the teat that is the Western Shore. It's a drain on them.

You have to be one of the Baltimorans... He makes it sound like he is doing the Eastern Shore a favor.... AGAIN thanks but no thanks!!!

An insane idea, taxpayers can't afford it, period.

1255-OC's money inflows do not cover the deficit the rest of the Shore runs up.

You must be from the Shore, can't add, subtract, spell, or reason. LOL

It the assholes on the western side of the bridge who ruin MD. Other than the greedy business owners in Ocean City, with most of them not originally from the Eastern Shore to start with, the lifelong residents don't desire the tourists or their money. No bridge would be the best scenario.

Hey there cant read or write must be from the shore lol. just don't piss your pants and want to burn headquarters down when you see me fueling my truck in town with a gun in the rear window after I'm done coon hunting. You are exactly the reason why no-one wants an additional span. Hope Larry doesn't sign a thing. I bet you're one of those idiots with a State flag that looks like a crab that thinks its okay to text and drive while speeding on 404. I could care less how much faster it is to get to the college facilities, last time my wife went to the mall those crepes were laying down on the floor in some kind of want to be hippy like daisy chain and intimidating female shoppers who were there with their children. Why don't you go to N. Korea and do some sight seeing, it'll be one less vote for the Bern and you can avoid the bridge.
