PCS REGANA R. FONTAINE NAMED MARYLAND STATE POLICE COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR

On Friday March 18th, Police Communications Supervisor(PCS) Regana Fontaine, walked across the stage at the Timonium Fairgrounds at the annual Maryland State Police Trooper/NCO/PCO/PCS of the Year ceremony to receive the prestigious 2015 Police Communications Supervisor of the Year Award for the Maryland State Police.

Police Communications Supervisor Fontaine, who has been employed with the Maryland State Police for almost 19 years, performed her duties in 2015 in an exemplary manner.  PCS Fontaine is known for her skill and proficiency in performing her duties as a PCO and as a PCO Supervisor.  PCS Fontaine is a certified instructor in several key statewide systems and a member of the Communications Training Committee.  She not only ensures the certification of all the Troopers assigned to the Salisbury Barrack, she supports the certification efforts for the Troopers assigned to the Eastern Troop.  A testament to PCS Fontaine’s professionalism was the perfect score awarded to the Salisbury Barrack during its biennial National Crime Information Center Audit.

PCS Fontaine began her career as a PCO assigned to the Berlin Barrack in 1997.  She has always been held in highest regard among the road Troopers that have had the pleasure of working with her as their lifeline on the other end of the radio.  Not only is she an accomplished PCO, she is an accomplished PCO field trainer, and earned the position of PCO Supervisor in 2005.   In addition to exceeding at her responsibilities as a PCO Supervisor, PCS Fontaine frequently fills the role of PCO at the MSP Salisbury Barrack.  Her high level of competency coupled with her calm demeanor even under the most stressful of times, define the high level at which PCS Fontaine performs her duties and has been recognized.  She is truly an Unsung Hero working behind the scenes to ensure that all of her Troopers go home safely.  We at MSP Salisbury Barrack are proud of PCS Fontaine and proud to call her one of our own.
