Im a terrible artist, but I would have a picture of a gun, then a homeless person begging for money at the Walmart intersection and then maybe someone getting assaulted in the mall parking lot. Has to be better than those random trees and a sailboat. At least my idea represents something in Salisbury. What is that in the upper left corner anyway? No idea.

Upper left corner is Holloway Hall at Salusbury University.

I would put dollar signs, and the city logo change that to, "Keepin' it Real."

I have an idea of a new design but don't know who to do it and send to you. The first thing I would do would be to get rid of "the seal of the city of." To me the colours are washed out looking and I would change them to what I refer to as the Ralph Lauren palette: Forest green, navy blue, a maroon w/ an alencon lace background which is basically a lighter shade of khaki. I would leave Holloway Hall, and get rid of the other 2 and replace w/I don't know what at this point. What is the significance of the tree? Agriculture should be represented. Maybe it is, but you can't tell. For authenticity's sake it really should have a chicken on it, but that only will have a negative effect since it makes people think of stink. Maybe the Shorebird logo?

I have no clue what the lower left and the upper right are supposed to be. I feel like it's one of those psychological tests wanting to know what the pic represents to you or what you see in it.

The upper interior corners shouldn't be protruding into the circle either. It doesn't look polished the way it is. Looks like a rough draft.

There is a shrub called the Pocomoke Crepe Myrtle. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any tree, bush, shrub, flower that has Salisbury in it's name? I've searched a bit but can't find any.

I think this a beautiful symbol. I wish they could have put a trolley bus on the new sign or a couple of people riding bikes! But overall this is going to make Salisbury shine like a Star!

First off get rid of "the seal of the city of." It's too much. The colors are washed out. Change it to the Ralph Lauren Palette: Forest Green, Navy Blue and a burgundy w/a light khaki background. Get rid of everything but Holloway Hall. The other things are meaningless. Maybe replace w/ the Shorebird logo? Instead of sailboat replace w/an actual boat/ship built by the Chesapeake shipbuilding corp that is located in Sby. No one can even tell what the lower left and top right pictures are.

Seriously get rid of the Baby Poop Yellow color. Google baby poop yellow and click on images to see the color is the same exact as baby poop yellow.

Bile Vomit Yellow

Interns on rotation in the ER can use the Seal of the City of Salisbury for comparison if unsure.

JT, please do us a favor and post what you receive and don't hold any back. We need some comic relief. I'm sure the trolls will come up with some good stuff.

Anything would be better this this disaster that looks like it was thrown in a washer, bleached and hung out to dry. The bottom line is you can't turn a turd into a gold watch. Salisbury is a chicken slaughter house town. The area surrounding it is factory farms. Trying to turn Sby into some art, culture, sophisticated destination is never ever going to happen. It's called wishing in one hand, taking a crap in the other and see which one gets filled quicker.

Turn Salisbury into a Chinatown type of destination. Most of those who are applying for chicken house permits have Asian sounding names. City officials need to get with the times and figure out Salisbury will be nothing more than a melting pot of unskilled foreigners coming in to work the low paying jobs.

I'm only against this until the city deserves it, deal with crime, housing issues and lack of businesses in Salisbury first. Stop putting the cart before the horse.
