Crisfield Parents Should Be Ashamed

This was the turnout at last nights little league Meeting
Positions need to be filled and it can't be done with the same 4 people year in and year out. Tonights meeting invitation reached 1900 individuals by Facebook and many more by the County Times

What is wrong with parents in Crisfield that they have no interest in little league?? It's one of the best things for kids to get into for goodness sakes

The reason no one wants to volunteer is because of the parents. The parents treat the coaches like crap and no one appreciates the time and effort they put in.

I feel it was lack of Communication. Try Again, use the phone service from the school, Social Facebooks post that are visit on regular basics. Maybe some of the same 4 can communicate with there friends to attend.

Sometimes it is the current leadership. Look at what Sue and Mal Price have done to East Wicomico Little League. They control the Board at EWLL and only let people they choose be on their Board. There is no such thing as a membership board at East Wicomico Little League. The Nation Little League needs to take their charter from them.

You have to have volunteers period to have a successful league. The few that are involved do the jobs most leagues have 20-30 volunteers to do. No one said anything about a membership board. How can you control the board if you don't have enough volunteers to fill the minimum board positions? Its easy to "control" the board if 20 volunteers want to be a board member, but you can only pick 8.

It appears the ones that volunteer are spread thin and if they take their kids elsewhere, THERE WOULD BE NO LEAGUE because there are no volunteers left that want to step into such a thankless position.

It is ultimately a decision that will come down to the parents and community. If Parents do not fill in the gaps that are needed, then there will be no league. Thank you to the few that do help. Without you there would be nothing. For those who think they have all the answers, you should sign up as a volunteer or request to step in for a current board member. I'm sure you would be welcomed with open arms from the looks of it.

That is a big reason why. We are in an generation that will complain rather than step in and help. Somerset County tried to merge and make one big league last year. I was happy for it until a lot parents ruined it and complained their kid was on a team they did not want to be on or complained they had to drive to a practice once and a while. The parents turned it into a disaster.
