Major Snowstorm Headed Our Way?

Many local weather forecasts are saying we could get 20 inches of snow this coming weekend. Are we now in a snow setup? Delmar Weather Reports Below

***WINTER STORM IS POSSIBLE FOR FRIDAY - SATURDAY***
***PLEASE READ FULL DISCUSSION***

There has been a lot of talk about a potential significant snowstorm for the Mid-Atlantic states going into Friday and Saturday. Right now, this system is 4-5 days away and anything can happen at this time.

One thing i will say is a storm is going to occur and it can be a major one, but the question is will it be in the form of rain or snow here on Delmarva. A track shift of a mere 100 miles could mean you rain for 75% of the event with some backside snow, or you end up breaking out the yard stick because a ruler isnt tall enough. This is going to be a very complex storm system to forecast.

*KEY FACTORS FOR THIS STORM*

- Low pressure position
- Wind direction
- Mid level temperatures

This type of system is known as a "Miller B" Nor'easter due to the factor of a single low pressure system moving into the southeast US with a secondary low taking over closer to the coastlines. These are extremely tricky due to where this second low pressure system develops and moves. Right now we have both the CMC and GFS pulling this system closer to the coast allowing warm air to funnel in throughout Delmarva making it primary rain. On the other hand, the note worth ECMWF shows the coastal low further south and east causing a full fledged blizzard on the shore.

Wind direction is crucial during this event. A more easterly wind off the ocean will allow warmer air from the Gulf Stream to pull inland while a more northerly wind will bring colder air into the storm. This goes one and one with the mid level temperatures as well.

*MOST IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND*

A lot of changes can occur over the next few days regarding this storm. Keep in touch with the latest forecast on what trends occur in the next few days. -Hunter

I'd still say to early to predict, the bay does throw a monkey wrench into a forecast.

Yeah, good report...but, 4 days out. The bays surrounding the peninsula play heck on those fronts trying to move through. Please keep posting updated especially Wednesday and Thursday!!!

Don't listen to this forecast. If you want the end all beat all truth, tune in to the cockroach Albero. He knows everything along with his "tens of millions" of followers. I pray to the ALMIGHTY GOD that guy falls thru the ice of his waterfront ditch and becomes a crab dinner. How can one insect love itself that much? Why don't people understand who that asshole really is?

I agree with those who said they are going to take a few precautions. I'm going to run out tomorrow and pick up a few things. It's best to be prepared and prepare early just in case.

Mr.Fact, I am not an albero fan by a long shot, however your wrong. The lady passes, the deed reverted back. Joe allowed her to stay while she was alive.
