Winter Wonderland of Lights

About 2000 people packed the Salisbury City Park to see the Winter Wonderland of Lights turned on for 10th straight year.

Former Salisbury City Council President Mike Dunn MC'd the event.  Committee Chair and Wicomico County Board of Education Member Kim Hudson announced this was her last year as chair but that the tradition will continue.

After a few musical performances and a dance recital by Feet of Fire, Santa showed up and the lights came on!

Sammy Seagull made his inaugural debut  on behalf of Salisbury University.

Those pathetic-ass lights... What a waste of money paying county employees to put them up and take them down every year

Volunteers put the lights. It is a City Park.

LESter, volunteers may rig up the lights, but who pays for all that iron?

I agree. They are so boring and that is why people go to Ocean City instead.

The County Parks and Recs has a lot invested in that.

Were there any elected officials invited for the opening ceremonies?

That enjoyment is short lived then. I ride by there every day and many times a day and have for the past 10 years and I never ever see anyone who has stopped to "enjoy them."
