Where Is Cracker Barrel? I Have The Updated Story

Many have asked why hasn't Cracker Barrel begun construction at the mall considering five guys and chipotle across street is moving along quickly . In an exclusive report I have the answer

The answer is Boscovs will not sign off on the agreement until the Centre agrees to fix their roof issues. If you want to help get this moving contact the mall and tell them get the job done so this can hurry up. Boscovs does need roof repair and the Centre needs to make that happen

I think a revitalized downtown Salisbury will be the demise of the Centre at Salisbury Mall. The owners of the Mall see the writing on the wall, this area can only support so much retail. I do think a revitalized downtown is a good idea, however, there will be a cost to do so.

Downtown has no retail at this time and until it does, it is not going to affect the Centre at all. I have family and friends from the surrounding area and they have a certain amount of time to come shop and get home. They all for the most part go north to the mall and surrounding shopping (Sam's, Target, Marshall's, etc). They eat up there and then finish shopping or head home. Downtown is not even a thought for them.

1:06 Bahahaha. No one is going to shop downtown. IF retail signs up, it will be niche shopping, over priced and catering to the art crowd. Or, even worse, re purpose clothing stores for the section 8 crowd. The internet is the biggest threat to retail malls, not downtown.

Shopping downtown is not happening....The Centre is still the place to go and they should get the roof repairs completed. I want to see Cracker Barrel open, but, I do not fault Boscov's for playing hard ball. Come on Centre management lets get things done!!

Because Gillis Gilkerson Inc is building Five Guys and Chipotle.

No one is going downtown. It is not convenient and there is no free parking. Jake Day thinks he is going to create Frederick, me in Salisbury. Trust me when I say that will never happen here.

Downtown Salisbury will never be a shopping, dining, entertainment destination. Internet shopping will dominate. Also, Salisbury is a second-rate, crime ridden town. It is merely a passing point for those on the way to OC. Plus the bypass skips downtown now. Quit dreaming...downtown is dead for commerce.

Who in their right mind would venture to downtown Salisbury unarmed? My God they cannot maintain a full roster of police officers, crime, especially violent crime, is up in the areas surrounding "downtown". Not to mention that while shopping in the Mall, a person can go from store to store in air-conditioned/heated/dry comfort.

11:22 pm. I agree with you. Now destined to be only Government facilities, Post Office and service offices such as attorneys and counseling. I even hear the Masonic facilities are moving. The mall is struggling due to taxes and fees so tenants are having a struggle profiting. Next spring will see changes in mall makeup after Christmas events. The mall traffic is down in my opinion but not sure why at evenings

Why are the comments referring to downtown when this has nothing to do with downtown? I thought Cracker Barrel was going into the old JC Penny's,or in the parking lot in front of it.I did not realize Boscov's had anything to do with it.

Down town is a 60/40 or thereabouts. It will require a 60% effort/investment to reap a 40% return.Anyone successful business person would be likely to avoid it.As for all other potential local businesses, why don't they get a permit, license or whatever is required, build the business and THEN tell us about it? Personally speaking I would never patronize any establishment that had once dangled a carrot in front of me with the may or may not come here approach.I base my entire life on dependability. If CB ever does come here I will not be among the flock of sheep who go there.

Thank you for the update. No one else seems to be following this at all. It will be nice when they finally open.
