Pizza Delivery Fees Your Thoughts?

Has anyone noticed that a 2.50 charge is always added to price of the pizza for delivery but it is not the drivers tip fee? Drivers tip is usually 3-4 dollars for the driver so why not advertise the pizza for the correct price with the 2.50 already added in

10 dollar pizza special starts become 20 real fast

Yes, I watch the local pizza places....that is exactly as you said it's added to the pizza cost and that's why I ask when I order one to be delivered! Always tip the driver with CASH if you can.

Not about pizza but I think I saw Tia Johnson. Did she get paroled? I'm pretty sure it was her.

Stop delivering then and go get it yourself, your going to burn that much in gas.

I already pay a fee when I pay the driver a tip. What the F*** do they think they are doing charging a fee when it should be going to the driver. The driver is using his car and his gas so they should not be charging a fee. F*** Them! I will go pick the pizza up on a "special" night only and cause them to lose money.

I would suspect that $2.50 "Fee" is much like any other add on "Fee" from any business.
I suspect that you will be "told" that the "Fee" goes directly to the driver but once paid it is mysteriously untraceable and ends up being put towards his reduced hourly wage like the in house Waitress or Waiters are paid.
I do not think you will find any food delivery business with a clear & concise posted guideline on where and how that "Fee" gets to the driver.
I am in agreement with an earlier post about tipping the driver cash since many people forget about the "Hidden" costs the driver is paying on top of fuel. Insurance, Additional wear & tear on the vehicle and so on.
Also to those who do not agree with delivery fees or tipping the driver I would suggest you get dressed, drive over, order, pick up and bring it back home a few times and then think about that "Fee" & Tip.
