Late Thursday evening Salisbury Police initiated an investigation into a shooting that occurred in the 800 block of W. Main Street. Initial investigation revealed that a 21 year old victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his head.

On November 12, 2015, at approximately 11:20 pm, officers and detectives were called to respond to the area of W. Main Street and Mitchell Road for reports of shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene and did not immediately locate the source of the gunshots or evidence related to shots being fired.

Shortly after the initial report came in, Peninsula Regional Medical Center contacted Salisbury Police to report that an individual was being treated for a single gunshot wound to the head. The shooting had nothing to do with the VFW and as far as it being rented out to gangs that too is not true. It is sad that we make assumptions, based on stereotype. Now as far as the visitor and their quest I can't speak to but I can gather it was not a member that made the comment

I have been involved in Public Safety for many years and everything you are saying is a bald face lie. Their have been many shootings and murders involved in your VFW. Gangs, thugs whatever. A gang is a group of 2 or more so yes they are gangs. Get over it, we aren't talking about the white VFW.

1:09 How about try being honest for once. No one is stereotying so stop the nonsense of trying to make this into an issue that it's not.
Facts are facts, no assumptions here pal. When these places are rented out to groups of blacks and have these DJ's playing the craps the dregs of society call music, you are looking for trouble. It's happened before and also in Millsboro, Pocomoke YMCA and numerous other places. It is a problem and if you don't know it get you head out of the sand and educate yourself before making dumb uninformed comments on blogs.
