HEROIN DEALER ARRESTED AFTER POLICE CHASE ON ROUTE 13

A combined police effort has taken another heroin dealer off the streets in Salisbury. 35-year-old Paul D. Jenkins, of Harrington, was sitting in a parked car in a shopping center just south of Hampshire Road on North Salisbury Boulevard on Monday afternoon – police intel indicated that he was carrying a large amount of heroin. One police vehicle blocked him in from the front, another from the back, and several officers approached on foot, ordering Jenkins to show his hands. He ignored them and rammed both police vehicles in order to flee, heading north on Route 13, driving recklessly and at a high speed, at times in the median, running cars off the road, and at one point hitting another car. Police pursed Jenkins into Delaware, at which point they were able to position vehicles around his car and block it in. Jenkins was seen throwing a bag from the car. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody, and the bag was found to contain 520 bags of heroin packaged for sale. Amazingly, no one was injured in this incident. Jenkins was charged with five counts of first degree assault, five counts of second degree assault, possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was also charged with 10 traffic offenses, including failing to stop at a property damage accident, failing to stop at a red light, failing to stop at a stop sign, unsafe passing on the shoulder, and speeding. Jenkins is currently being held without bail.

Good job to all the officers involved with the arrest of this criminal

Guess the line will be a little longer at the methadone clinic... at least for a day or two until someone else takes over his turf.

10:14 Or they get antsy and load up and OD. We couldn't be so lucky. One more down in Hebron yesterday... right across from a SCHOOL. Where's the media coverage? I thought the BOE did everything for the children? Worthless schmucks.

Seriously,is this more of the revolt of the have nots? One has to wonder if episodes such as this would decrease if those in question could find gainful employment.No one wants to pay their employees enough to live on even after they have been hired and proven themselves.Once they've been charged and convicted all hope of a decent job is lost.I can see the impossible cycle here even if no one else can,and NO I am not defending this guy or anyone else.Just simply looking at a national problem realistically.No decent jobs = criminal behavior.

@1002am

You can bet this idiot and half his family havent seen a job application or updated their resume in decades. It would also be a wise bet to say that working folks are probably footing the bill for this scum and his family.

Just wondering...what does the BOE have to do with an overdose across the street from a school?

Seriously? I venture to suggest that this particular piece of human garbage, like so many of his kind, would not accept non-criminal employment if he was offered multiple jobs. When it comes to employment everyone is equal. It starts when one is in school and attends in an orderly manner each and every day, while humanly absorbing as much knowledge as possible. It doesn't occur by acting like a thug, disrupting class, skipping school, or dropping out.
One is solely responsible for one's own actions and must accept responsibility for those actions. If a person commits a crime, they should have to accept the punishment. They made that choice, no one else. Stop blaming someone or something else.
I get sick and tired of people making excuses for, or seeming to feel sorry for trash like this. How many people's lives has he assisted in ruining because of the junk he sells them? How many heroin addicts have died because of him?
I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY for him or anyone like him. His fat, lazy ass chose to do what he did. Unfortunately, those of us who work for a living each and everyday, to legally support ourselves and our families will have to pay for this POS's incarceration. It is just unfortunate that while running from the police that he didn't have a collision, resulting in the impalement of a tree, pole or similar object through his empty brain.
