Wicomico County Sheriff's Department Gets An MRAP

Wicomico County residents just got another level of protection with the addition of an MRAP to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Department. This will help protect civilians and law enforcement alike in the case of a major shooter situation. This vehicle cost the taxpayers nothing to obtain as the Sheriff's department used seized money for the purchase.

If you aren't familiar with what an MRAP does, it basically is the vehicle designed to deal with all of the roadside bombs our troops have had to deal with in Iraq and Afghanistan. I applaud Sheriff Lewis and the Department for obtaining one of these at no cots to better protect us the Citizens

There was a time when I was would say no to this because it militarizes LE. Since the events going on in Ferguson with the riots and looting all over some degenerate shot who deserved it I now think this is a good idea.

Arming the citizens would make better planning.
What's next Fighter jets or bombers.

Where do you put the gun turret?

Arabs use pickup trucks. We need tanks.

Bulldoze the Westside with it.

The truck is missing side windows to serve refreshments to the demonstrators.
All this firepower and afraid to use it.

It's missing teargas launchers and rubber bullet cannons

This is the truck Mike Lewis was going to buy before he got the MRAP:

The Milatarizing of our Law Enforcement is something we should be very concerned about.

Woooo whooooo militarized police forces on the eastern shore. Why not just paint swastikas on them and get it over with. What can the idiots in wico. Not see that a militarized force in Ferguson did not work and only angers more people into the conflict?

For you people pushing to militarize your police why don't you just move to north Korea and see how the system of militarized police works for them!

With the threat of terrorism in today's society, who do u think we are going to call, the military?? Stupid eastern shore brainless fools. Also these vehicles are provided free of charge by the military surplus program. The only thing paid for is transporting the vehicle from where it was stationed.

Why is this piece of military equipment needed? Does Wicomico county plan to go to war with Worcester county? "Today Worcester, tomorrow Delaware!"

I notice you didn't mention Somerset Co. Are you hiding something?

Maybe they will get some free drones to fly overhead and report more citations to automobile speeders to fatten the kitty of money that they can waste on booze and food.
