Last nights meeting of the Somerset County Board Of Ed took on a life of it's own when my website became a topic of conversation. It seems Marjorie and others were unhappy with the info that was being placed into my posts and wanted to let the Board know about it. I guess letting the pubic know that Marjorie Miles informed Board staff to not speak to Dan Kuebler anymore was something they didn't want the public to know.
This is exactly the problem with Marjorie Miles. The idea that she control anything and everything that gets to the public's ears. Many in attendance were very uncomfortable with the atmosphere because of the hate that seemed to be filling the room from Marjorie Miles supporters in attendance. Marjorie let me tell you since I know you read my site, if you have a problem with me or my website feel free to contact me, not go after people you think are giving me info.

She had her cronies, Rev Miles and Garland Hayward, make a big thing of it. She was embarrassed that the public read the email she wrote telling staff not to talk to Dan. Rev Miles called you "reprehensible"
One would think that a woman as educated as she "supposedly" is would know that you don't put things down in writing that you would not want others to know. She is acting as though she wants to be a czar lord or something.
Isn’t funny how none of the other counties around here have issues like this?????? They just do their jobs and take care of the CHILDREN, not worry about helping their friends and how to avoid the issues at hand.
Many of the changes that have occurred make no sense and do not help the schools or the children. In fact many have been downright detrimental.
Bottom line-You have a problem perceived or otherwise w/ the Board, the professional thing to do it take it up with the Board.
You don't ever put your employees in the middle-Ever. That is lacking in not only professionalism but is a sign of a weak supervisior and quite frankly it is childish.

As ignorant and unprofessional as Dr. Miles is, there wouldn't be all of these feelings towards her if she even appeared to care about the kids. She tried to close CHS against the wishes of just about everyone. She has spent hundred of thousands of dollars hiring her friends and family members to supervisory or board positions. Then spent hundred of thousands more dollars hiring more people to do the jobs that her friends and family members are unqualified to do. All of this while laying off intervention teachers and special education aides. I for one can not wait until these test scores(Especially at WHS where her family works) start dropping so we can get her the hell out of here.
Well Grinch you got plenty of advertisment out of the meeting last night, your advertisers should be very happy with Gayland doing such a fantastic job pushing your blog. If anyone one who was in attendance last night didn't know about your site, they sure do now.
If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. Our kids need a good education and our teachers need support and guidance from the administration. The board needs to put on their big boy and girl pants and get on with the task at hand. Education Not drama.
Oh, and speaking of Gayland. Let's not forget the fact that SCPS now hires athletic coaches on the sole basis of them being black males regardless of qualifications.(Garland and the new fat guy that coaches the boys) Not to mention they don't even try to make it look legitimate by taking applications and holding interviews. SMH
well now that they supposedly moved the person that they thought was leaking information to the blog it will be interesting to see how much information ia still posted
Were any other issues addressed? Did anyone inquire about the source of funds for the Holiday Handouts?

Another Miles supporter got up and trashed the newest board member. I think his statement was that man Dan came into my office introduced himself and asked who I was and what I did and made me very uncomfortable. I wish Dan had put him in his place, cause Mrs. Miles doesn't know how to respect anyone above her and don't care to keep her staff in check.
Isn't there a community center named after Hayward that had a scandal over some worker stealing money?
WE were asked the ? , some time back " How can we save money in the county school system ? I said " Get the food service coordinator out of here ! That's about $70.000+ When they never had one they were in the black. The Managers have had traning to run thier schools. They pay to have them learn how to handle food and what and how much to serve. If you want to save money ! Start at the t_O_P

Minutes will be online at the Somerset Co Public Schools website after they are given final approval as to accuracy which will occur at the next meeting whenever that is.

What kind of nitwit feels "uncomfortable" when someone comes into their office and after introducing themselves asks the person their name and their positon? Staff should know exactly who is on the Board and if they don't they are remiss. And anyone who feels "uncomfortable" when asked these questions by a Board member needs some mental help for their paranoia.

They always had a food cordinator dumb nuts who do you think does the books for the state? Second if Dr.Loose Cannon would stop borrowing money from the food service dept. to pay her families and friends salaries at the board, the food service wouldn't be in the red!

Regarding the Christmas Bonus issue for Central Office Supervisors. Whoever negotiated for Somerset County the Union contract for the 2012-2013 school year, it was agreed that a "$1000 bonus would be paid on or about Dec 15th, 2012". All "Unit II" employees received this bonus who had "one" year in the school system. Unfortunately, unlike private business, this bonus was paid without regard to "MERIT"!!! Total cost to the school system was in the neighborhood of $40,000. This is gospel.
Margo and Miles looked like they were sitting on bee hives last night. Not going to be the same, now that it's going to be a lot lot lot harder keeping their secrets. There will be no pulling the wool over Dan's eyes.

Actually it was Bernard Johnsons son that got the DWI. However, Bernard was hired to fill the transportation spot because that was the only way to settle him down over the Nick Moon bus route. AND, isn't him being the supervisor of transportation considered double dipping? Hmmmmmm thought this wasn't allowed!?!?!?!?! He is a paid supervisor AND a bus contractor....
Did BJ's job go out for hire, or was he hired by his friend Dr.Loose Cannon!
The question is---is BJ qualified to do the job, and does he follow the contractors policy??? Things that make the mind wander if policies are even followed. Does the board offer dental insurance for him??? Also did he graduate fr SCPS? If so what grade did he receive in English?
Who ever said I was "dumb nuts " When they never had a food service cordinator( When Mr. Beaty moved ) For 4 mounths the food service was without a boss , the went in the black ! Most of all you get your "DUMB NUTS" information stright ! That is if you can !
Of course miles hired him and yes that job was advertised. However there were many very qualified people for this position but uneducated BJ got it, how many of you still see him riding/driving that bus with a lit cigerette hanging from his lips? Or the cell phone on his shoulder. As a supervisor shouldn't he be setting an example???

Ok, Dr. Loose Cannon, Dumb Nuts, Mr. DWI, The Cronies, those who DID get a bonus and those who DID NOT, take your drama somewhere else. We have kindergarden kids that need to be educated to run our country, we have high school kids that need to be protected from gangs, we have middle school kids that are having emotional issues from loosing their homes in a recent storm, we have teachers that need our support, we have staff that use their own paychecks to help kids that need everyday supplies. So if you are working for SCPS for the money and nothing else, get the **** out. We don't need you. We need to concentrate on SCPS should really be about, the children.
12:14, An employee (or family member) of the school who also benefits from the profits of a public contract such as a bus contract could be cause for concern as it could be constued as a conflict of interest.
As an employee his personal interests must be revealed and the employee themselves must not be part of the decision making process of awarding these contracts. If these regulations are followed and he was awarded the contract because he was the best qualified then all is okay.

Yes, 12:38 I agree and would also like to add the hard working dedicated staff. And I'll again add that Miles was wrong. If she had a problem with the Board then she needed to put her big girl pants on and take it up with them and not attempt to intimidate staff nor put them in the middle of her battles.
I still haven't seen my bonus check. There has to be some way we all get more money.
Don't forget Garland Hayward is Dr. Miles' brother in law.
In school year 2011 to 2012 somerset food service had a surplus of 81,000 dollrs. Now 5 months into this year we are 71,000 in the hole. Where did the 81,000 go? I heard Dr. Miles came and retrieved the food service's surplus. Now they are blaming food service for not being accountable.
Dr.Loose Cannon, phd I hire my family and friends first and the highest qualified second, She took mega funds from food service and transportation in the fall of 2012 and stuck it in teacher salary account. It was suppose transferred so when they sent the paper work up to the state it is not suppose to be in the red! I Wonder she ever put that money back yet, it sure would make Rev. Miles happy!
If they had 81,000 and are now 71,000 in the red, that makes 152,000 to account for.

12:47, he smokes on his bus constantly! Ask to step on his bus at anytime and you can smell it! As far as the double dipping, it's being done! He is the transportation supervisor, a bus driver AND the president of the bus contractors association. How is THAT not a conflict???
If that is true then the parents of kids who ride that bus need to raise hell.

He smokes in his bus everyday on school grounds and MEM knows it and so does Jefferson. Addiction runs in the family.

It's me again, the employee from central office. All I can say is now, is wow, since the board meeting the other night it has gotten worst in central office. Now between Bernard and Miles they are raving lunatics! She even got some of her NAACP friends meeting in here on regularly basis. We know another employee is about to go, we just don't which white person it will be. Even the 2 new on this year transportation and finance cannot believe how unprofessional Miles is being. She is sending emails around just to certain ones now, trying to fiqure who it is. Please help us in here!

Let's see, she has moved 2 white females from the board office, only leaves so many. Won't be Nancy Smokers secretary, because she is Charles Fishers daughter, and she knows she will have a huge fight on her hands. Who does that leave....hmmmmm Higgs, nope, won't be her cause her hubby is the President of the teachers union. Could be the sister of the first board secretary moved, name escapes me, be interesting to see who's next
