As i was following the story of the missing guy from off Nanticoke Road I was shocked when I heard they had to fly trooper 4 across the bay to pick one up to bring back here to help conduct a search. Think of the money used to pick the dog up bring it here, fly it back and then come home.It would be nice for some allied agency to find the money to get one for another local force so that wouldn't be necessary again.

I believe the Worcester County Sheriff's Dept has a tracking dog. I don't know if tracking as in looking for a missing person or tracking as in following a suspect who may be running from police and helping to apprehend them.
Maybe it was one of the DNR dogs they brought in.
This ordeal should make the bloodhound feel really important. He should feel like 007's dog.
Where are the ones that use to be around this area? ECI had one that put all sniffing dogs to shame. OH! that's right they don't have a MSP dog badge.
Well when the communities are envolved in the crimes, how can u expect the departments to get funding or even help acquiring new equipment and systems to combat crime?
5:33 PM..OH MY! Here we go. You 'all starting to sound like school teachers. Every cent given to Dept Of Ed goes to giving them selves pay raises in stead of spending on school supplies, books or building repairs. Then they look around like the poor red head adopted kid with their lip stuck out. You know instead of buying a fleet of high priced luxury cars, put some aside and buy a dog when you have enough money. That's what I and others have to do.
6:04 it doesn't work like that. These officers aren't getting raises like that. Their freakin' cars have 150,000 miles or more on them. Their radios are so old they can't even communicate with other departments. Dogs are what we in the military call force multipliers. With a bloodhound you could find a missing person or an escaped prisoner that it may otherwise take hundreds of man hours to find.
It wasn't that long ago they upgraded to the new 800 or 900 system. so why don't they work now? Who they have to call that don't have that new system. And i see them driving with cell phones to their ear. The only thing left is smoke signals.
now every dept needs specific types of dogs? give me a break. why don't we buy them tanks?
somerset county sheriff's office has one that was never called.
It was called it was unavailable
Wouldn't it be better to put Under the skin homing devices on people at risk, Then buy all these dogs that seldom are used?
I'm surprised they didn't make the dog find his own way home. Why not a Trooper in a car, heck they drive as fast as a chopper anyway.
Tracking devices were put in our cell phones quick enough.
