Is The Somerset County Board Of Education Complicit In The Waste Of Funds?

Warren Sumpter,DeWayne Whittington,Margo Gale,Robert Wells, William Miles are you thinking for yourselves on the budget or are you simply just believing everything shown to you? You cannot believe it is going to cost 341,000 for replacing the bleachers at Washington High School. Did you even look at the bleachers in Crisfield and find out it only cost them around 30,000 to replace them? You are supposed to be looking out for the best interests of the taxpayers and citizens with the money given to you for use in keeping children educated. 341 thousand dollars is not it, that is a complete beyond waste of taxpayer money which could be used in many other areas. Please take the time to look into these matters for yourself and do not just believe anything Marjorie Miles tell you to be a fact.

Bob Dylan and his Band Announce August 30th Stop at WY&CC

Bob Dylan and his Band Announce August 30th Stop at WY&CC
Salisbury, MD – Bob Dylan and his Band released their summer North American concert dates this morning. The Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury, MD is scheduled for Thursday, August 30th. Tickets for the 7:30pm show go on sale Friday, June 29th.
Dylan, who has not performed on the Eastern Shore since 1994, is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fammer and Pullitzer Prize winner. His singing and songwriting is recognized not just for its artistic value, but for capturing the voice of a generation. Beginning with his re-energizing of the folk music genre in the early Sixties, Dylan’s contribution to the music world continued with his embrace of electric later that decade. Throughout his career Dylan’s lyrics, songs and delivery have bridged the gap across folk, rock n’ roll and country.
Ticket prices range from $35 to $50 (additional fees apply) and are available online at www.WicomicoCivicCenter.org, in person at the Box Office or via phone at 410.548.4911.

Woodson School Bus Bullying Update

I have been waiting to be able to update this story and now I finally have something to add. The powers that be after being contacted by the parents attorney finally relented and let the parent see the bus video. The video showed what was described and a very dangerous situation for the other kids as they were not staying in there seats as the bus driver was telling them to. It seems every stop they would get in their seats but the moment the bus started moving they would be all over the seats and in the walkway to watch the assault taking place.

The part that I take personally was that Principal Lilly Welch and the Transportation Supervisor Roger Daugherty wanted to waste time complaining about was my website covering the event. Let me give you both a clue if you have a problem with me take it up with me, don't waste the time of this parent with your complaints when you should be apologizing for her child having to go through such crap including having the issue talked about on facebook by School employees. The end result is the parent will not send their child back to that School and I do not blame them, they have shown zero respect to the child or the parents and seem more concerned with their public reputation then doing the right thing.

New Library Moving Forward For Crisfield

A new library is coming closer to reality for residents in Crisfield after the Somerset County Commissioners agreed to move forward by signing a letter of intent for matching funds to replace the tiny Corbin Memorial library in Crisfield. If the Board of Ed would not need 341,000 for the Washington High Bleachers they could get it done sooner I may add.
