Honoring Pat Carson A True Somerset County Icon

If you want a true Somerset County Icon look no further than retiring Teacher Pat Carson from Crisfield High School. This lady has taught for 42 years and has recently retired and I want to make a post to honor such a sweet kind lady. I met her several years back as she taught my wife as well and I only heard how great she was and was like a friend and mentor to all her students who loved her so much and looked forward to seeing her every day. Pat thank you so much for reaching so many kids and helping to influence them with love and caring. You will be missed and I hope you enjoy some much needed rest.

Sheriff Jones Please Respect The Citizens And Resign

Bobby Jones I know you hate to lose the money and benefits but you need to respect the officers and most importantly the County and badge that you are supposed to represent. Bobby please you are bringing shame upon the Office and need to do the right thing and step down.

What Do You Think About Jim Ireton's Downtown Plan

What do you think of Jim Ireton's Downtown plan to surplus some of the parking Downtown to build new businesses ? This is much in line with my post on Darth Campbell in that I am giving Jim Credit fir taking an idea and putting it forward to try something different. Is it the right plan? who knows but at least it's something.

Has Marjorie Miles Lost It With ROTC Program

The ROTC issue which had been resolved everyone thought seems to be on a hit list by Marjorie Miles. It certainly seems that she wants to get rid of the program but the public uproar over this made her change her mind and say it would stay. However now it seems like this was just a ploy to appease the public and it is again finding itself in a precarious place by Dr Miles.

It seems Marjorie has decided that the USAF ROTC unit will remain at Washington High School but the two instructors there will also carry the load of also teaching the USAF program at Crisfield High School. This will put an immense amount of pressure on them to have both pass USAF Inspections for this program. It isn't even known if the Air Force will allow her to do this.

Food Review Longhorn Steakhouse

Longhorn Steakhouse In Salisbury is my newest food review. This was actually my first time at Longhorn so not only will I be sharing my meal review but my first impressions.

I really liked the decor in the dining room as I felt it did give it that Texas Cowboy feel. I did find that the dining area seemed smaller than most other larger name restaurants especially the sister sites Red Lobster and Olive Garden next door.

The Dining area is mostly made of booths as shown in the bottom picture with 4 square tables and 1 round in the back of the Restaurant for people who need more room. I have to give my highest mark to them for their Handicapped Restroom stall as honestly it was the nicest of any other restaurant I have been to locally.

The wait time for our food was 20 minutes which was excellent.

I ordered the 12 Ounce Sirloin with White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. The Steak was delicious, tender and juicy and the Potatoes were as well. I did not however get my Green Beans so I have to put a mark down for that.

The prices are a bit on the high end with most items being in the 15 to 25 dollar range.

Wow what can I say about this the Chocolate Stampede dessert. Let me just say do not buy this for one person as it is huge. It is however delicious whatever amount you are able to eat.

I have heard from others about complaints they have had with service and food, and I am not sure what is with the mixed reviews. For every person that likes it you have an equal number that didn't. I can only judge on what I experienced and for me it was a positive one.

Regal RPX Is It Worth It?

I had a chance to finally check out the new Regal RPX Theater for a showing of Snow White and The Huntsman over the weekend to see what the fuss was all about. The main question is it worth the extra ticket price?

I can say for non 3D Movies the answer is no. The screen is huge and does wrap around a bit on the sides and the audio at times actually vibrated my chair. The seats were very comfortable with nice head rests. I guess I was expecting something grander and perhaps with Snow White being non 3D I really didn't get the full effect of what the Screen can do. The ticket price is around 4 dollars more than a usual ticket price so you really have to be sure it is worth that extra money.

I will add that it is cool that Salisbury has an RPX theater now however as they aren't everywhere yet. The verdict is still out on this I will say until I see a 3D movie

Checkers To Re-Open Soon

To Those Locally that were bummed out when Checkers closed last year, new owners have bought it and will re-open it soon. I'm just glad we have an empty building being used again.
