Do You Think President Obama's Support Of Gay Marriage Will Cost Him Election?
With the news this week that North Carolina had banned gay marriage on the heels of Maryland making it legal do you think President Obama's support of Gay Marriage will cost him the election?
Marjorie and The ROTC
Well goodbye ROTC thanks to Marjorie Miles. All the Somerset Board Of Ed was responsible for was 50% of the salaries, the Government was paying the other half. The Somerset Board Of Ed Terminated the Air Force and Army contracts without the 1 year notice. The ROTC program doesn't take anything from the School in terms of benefits, insurance, etc.
The ROTC program is the last thing that should be cut, it teaches kids discipline and about respect. I thought the idea of the entire process was to encourage kids to be better than they are, and yet the on program that does just that is what gets targeted.
Road Work Notices
The city is accepting bids for the reconstruction of Parsons Road and the work is anticipated to be done this summer while school is not in session. Sterling said careful attention is being taken to allow all businesses to operate during this period. Camden Avenue from College Avenue to South Boulevard will be milled and paved this summer while college is not in session. Sterling said the inclusion of bike lanes on both sides of Camden Avenue will also be incorporated into this project during the striping process. The city is in the process of relocating the fence and trees along property owned by Salisbury University to install pedestrian crossings and a traffic signal at Onley Road and South Division Street. Included in this project is making Bateman Street one way, allowing traffic to flow in a westerly direction from South Division Street to Wayne Street. This work will begin July 9 and should be completed before SU students return Aug. 23.
