Stet Removed Charges Refiled On Claude Hill and Steven Akers

Claude Hill and Steve Akers stet In Somerset have been removed following the first degree murder conviction of William Hill today in Wicomico County. They both are charged with Accessory after the Fact for The Murder of Whitney Bennett

Kudos To Jim Ireton For Officer Retention Plan

I want to give credit to Jim Ireton's budget idea to allow Salisbury Police Officers to increase their pay at the 4 year mark of service to stay competitive with other local agencies. I remember when I was working the crime task force numbers that it was a big reason we were struggling to have Officers stay and be a part of our City as it seemed Salisbury was just a stepping stone to the Sheriff's Department. Hopefully this will allow us to not only keep Officers around but maybe encourage them to actually come to the Department.
