City Does A Great Thing
In America ambition and hard work can make a pauper a millionaire.
This is folklore. A worker’s initial position in the income distribution is highly predictive of how much he or she earns later in the career. And as the Brookings Institution reports “there is growing evidence of less intergenerational economic mobility in the United States than in many other rich industrialized countries.” The bitter fact is that it is harder for a poor person in America to become rich than in virtually any other industrialized country.

WiHi football coach charged with child, sex abuse
David Nettles, 44, was indicted by a grand jury Monday after a nearly five month investigation by the Child Advocacy Center with three counts of fourth-degree sex offense, third-degree sex offense and child abuse by a custodian.
Faux Homeless?
I was very disturbed by accounts by people in my article about the homeless around town over the weekend reporting in comments that some of these people are part of a scam and not really homeless. The report of shifts and being let off at locations is something that I find beyond disgusting as it makes people jded to help others with this kind of behavior.
I am going to be keeping an eye on this situation and uncover the truth.
OCPD PROUDLY ANNOUNCES 2011 AUXILIARY OFFICER OF THE YEAR
On Thursday, March 22, 2012, the Ocean City Police Department celebrated its annual “Auxiliary Officer of the Year” banquet. The OCPD Auxiliary program, which began in 1999, boasts 16 members who generously donate their time to the Ocean City Police Department and the Ocean City community.
The title of “Auxiliary Officer of the Year” is awarded to the person who best demonstrates a devotion to duty and public service, and whose conduct and contributions exemplify the purpose of the Auxiliary Unit. This year, the honor was awarded to Shalimar Kufchak, who has been a member of the Auxiliary program since 2010.
During 2011, Kufchak distinguished herself by contributing over 500 hours in support of public safety with the Ocean City Police Department. Auxiliary Officer Kufchak assisted with many public safety functions, spending most of her time supporting the Services Section by answering phones at the front desk and assisting the property and evidence manager. In addition, Kufchak donated her time to participate in special events such as the Ocean City Police Department’s Annual Christmas Food andToy Drive and the Play It Safe program.
“The Auxiliary Officers are an invaluable asset to our department,” commented Chief Bernadette DiPino. “The nearly 3,000 hours in which they donated in 2011 not only benefited the men and women of the Ocean City Police Department, but their contribution to public safety impacted the Ocean City community as a whole. I commend Auxiliary Officer Kufchak for her dedication to our department and our community.”
Since its inception, the Auxiliary Officer Program has saved the Town of Ocean City nearly $1.5 million in service hours. In 2011, a total of 2,944.5 hours of service to the Ocean City Police Department was donated, bringing the total hours of service to over 45,000.

Armed Robbery Increase?
Is it just me or has their been an increase in robberies especially of local stores lately?. The hair place, the Family Dollar, Bradley market. I feel everyday there is going to be a robbery of some store in Salisbury and that is not a good feeling.

Greetings everyone and a special thanks to JT for letting me come on board. I know that many who read blogs online locally happen to be politically active and have strong feelings for their respective beliefs. I am proud to be a Democrat and want others to stop being afraid to share your views with your Republican friends. I want to use this outlet to dispel many of the falsehoods that I feel are told by the Right Wing Groups to make things look terrible in our Country in hope of changing leadership at the next Presidential election.
My Democratic friends we must not be afraid of our beliefs and we must stand united for the continued change in this Country.
