Only A Delay?

The recent victory over the Somerset School merger has many people questioning if this was just a delay tactic and will the citizens have to repeat this whole fight again next year? I honestly hope that the Somerset Board saw the large majority who were opposed to this merger idea and just forget it forever. The people do not want the Schools merged which would cost a small county like Somerset some identity for the locals.

Many Somerset County residents have stepped up and are offering free tutoring to help kids get their test scores up, and this combined with some personnel changes should solve the problem.

Alexis Guerrero Arrested For Assault

I was very saddened yesterday to hear the news of Alexis Guerrero being charged with second degree assault and resisting arrest yesterday during a traffic stop on Glen Avenue. Alexis is a boxer of his own merit and older brother of Fernando.

Citizens For Ocean City Getting Fed Up

Horseback Riding Given Approval

Better Living Expo Returns to Wicomico Youth & Civic Center February 24-26

The Better Living Expo & Craft Show, presented by the Optimist Club of Salisbury, will return to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Friday, February 24 through Sunday, February 26, 2012. Spend the day gathering ideas and information while perusing a multitude of booths displaying the newest home and garden innovations. The expo will also include a full room devoted to arts and crafts featuring vendors offering unique home décor.

Show hours are Friday from 4:00pm-8:00pm, Saturday from 10:00am-8:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am-4:00pm. Tickets to the event are $4 and are good for the entire weekend. Children under 12 will be admitted for free. Kids will enjoy jugglers, clowns and animals from the Salisbury Zoo making scheduled appearances during the expo.

Proceeds from the expo are used to support the Optimist Club’s youth-focused local activities.

Tim Spies What A Disgrace

Tim "I hate renters" Spies pled guilty yesterday and was put on probation for failing to repair his beater home for 2 years and of course in usual fashion Tim cannot take responsibility for anything.  It's those pesky contractors not him who failed to fix his eyesore even though given 10 extensions and 2 years to do so. This is what happens when you have no pride.

The only way this would have been avoided was if Debbie Campbell had told him to fix it in 2009 to which Tim knew he would have to comply or get beaten by his master. Let us also add that because of his laziness it is costing us citizens of Salisbury 200 dollars an hour for outside attorneys. This is the guy that wants to make sure landlords are held to a higher standard for their homes but not home owners, and the guy who thumbed his nose at the ethics committee recommendation that he avoid voting on any housing legislation . Tim Spies is a reject extraordinaire and should resign

Terry Co-Hen Continues Ignorance

I always love reading Terry Co-hen's ridiculous statements she makes when referring to legitimate concerns from citizens regarding their nomination of their bff Mark Tilghman as City Solicitor. In the latest remarks in the Daily Times Terry is once again doing the everyone knows everyone defense on getting an attorney to handle the ethics complaints. Terry is lying to the public when she is doing this little game, because as stated anyone into the local political game knows how close the Tilghmans are with Debbie, Terry and Tim and for Terry to keep this act of "o I know who he is but I know alot of people" act is beyond sad.

She would be better served to just be honest stick her tongue out at the citizens and say haha I got my friend a job at a quarter million a year.
