Would You Support Horse Back Riding On Ocean City Beaches?
The Ocean City Town Council is going to be discussing the idea of allowing horse back riding on the beaches in Ocean City. Would you be supportive of this?
Salisbury Maryland City Clerk Job You Don't Want It
This post is for anyone who might see the Salisbury City Clerk Job Listing coming up in the paper or the Internet and do not live in the area, trust me you don't want the job. The Council is in the process of removing comp time after chaining our current City Clerk Brenda Colgrove to the Government Office Building until the two hens Campbell and Cohen get tired of hearing themselves talk which depending on the day and their mood can be 6-8 hours after regular working time.
This means they want you working at a flat salary no matter how long they keep you away from your family friends or even a life. Kim Nichols who is the only one that can do the job and knows what has to be dealt with should get the job and that is because she loves what she does, it certainly isn't for the money. Run for the hills you have been warned.
Great Comment Received Worthy A Post On Tim Spies
First of all, we are not "taxpayers" - we are "just names on a piece of paper". Only Cohen, Campbell, Spies & of course Kay Gibson are "taxpayers & residents of the City of Salisbury". (Albero is a tax-ower, not taxpayer, although I have heard that he may be living upstairs in his Main St Bldg.)
Secondly, Seaman Spies received 10 extensions over a 2 year period for roughly 10 violations before he was EVER issued a Municipal Infraction for ONE (1) of those violations (none of which have been completely fixed).
ANYONE ELSE - especially a landlord - would have been in court after the second extension (at best) and would have been fined for each and every violation. This is total bullshit!
He already said in the first DT article that the fine was justified which is why he didn't take it to the Board of Zoning & Appeals. He says that was to save the City taxpayers money and effort but appeals to that board are FREE as they are volunteers, unlike the courts where our State tax dollars are paying for the judges, police officers, staff, and overhead costs!
Add to that, the fact that we City taxpayers (AKA "names on a piece of paper") now have to pay Duvall $200 an hour for AT LEAST 4 hours, and that we have already paid Wilber and company several hundred dollars to get these court postponements and figure out who to hire that does not have a conflict in this case and we are EASILY into the thousands, for Spies to skirt a $100 fine!
So, Seaman, where exactly are you "saving the taxpayers money"? What are your puppet masters saying about the fiscal irresponsibility in this case? Maybe Cohen can write another editorial for this Sunday to explain to her not so loyal subjects how this "complex matter" is to our benefit. While she's at it, maybe she can explain why the Council Rules of Order (or any rule for that matter) only apply selectively to other members but not to her and the rest of the Camden Clowns.
Please Madam President - EXPLAIN YOURSELVES!
Rick Hoppes To Begin Rebuilding Process
Rick Hoppes is back in his job as Acting Chief and his first order of business will be to work on the morale issues and change some thing back that Jeff Simpson tried that simply didn't work. Honestly I said before and I will say again I do not know why Rick was not chosen as the Fire Chief during the last process. The man has worked with almost every firefighter that is in the Department, he has all the required degrees and people know what they have with Rick there is no guess work.
What are some of the things that Jeff Simpson changed that need to be evaluated for their effectiveness?
