The one thing that could be done quickly to get us more Officers and K9'S would be to immediately start giving the Police Department all money from seizures that are currently going into the General Fund. The Police should also should be able to issue City Traffic Citations like Annapolis does where all proceeds come straight back into the Local Police funding.
With these simple things we could fully fund all our Police needs.

At a minimum, they need two more vehicles.....after last weekend.
And better bullets to go through the Government-required-door-crash-reinforcement-panels.
They have a better retirement now that is on par with competing agencies, which is good. Now all they need is more officers and higher salaries. They could then hire and retain officers, instead of having the average officer with less then 3 years on and the average supervisor with less then 10. If there is one thing that shuts most people up, including officers is a better salary.
