Greetings everyone and a special thanks to JT for letting me come on board. I know that many who read blogs online locally happen to be politically active and have strong feelings for their respective beliefs. I am proud to be a Democrat and want others to stop being afraid to share your views with your Republican friends. I want to use this outlet to dispel many of the falsehoods that I feel are told by the Right Wing Groups to make things look terrible in our Country in hope of changing leadership at the next Presidential election.
My Democratic friends we must not be afraid of our beliefs and we must stand united for the continued change in this Country.

This should be fun. I already know all I need to know about Democrats and the Democratic agenda. President Obama has made that perfectly clear when he stated he wanted to "fundamentally change America" and "the redistribution of wealth".

Well, I know that as an American and a tax payer, I certainly have a right to my First Amendment privileges. And with that being said, I cannot fathom why any logical citizen of this country would want another four years of our current democrat socialist president who believes that more government is needed and that being financially successful is a sin. Obama has made our nation a second rate country and encourages class dissention. He is not a leader by any test or by any means. His presidentcy and the democrtaic party has brought shame and embarassment upon our fabulous nation. Obama and the democratic party are not the solutions, they are the problem.
Another believer in the left/right fairy tale. There is no difference in republicans and democrats. Will Rogers said so almost a 100 years and it's still true today.

To Anon 1:15 - Your response is typical for a socialist democrat. I will remain in MY COUNTRY and hopefully help rebuild what this failed socialist of a president has destroyed in three short years. As for our country now being second rate, just look at the numbers and remember that numbers don't lie regardless of what this failed socialist president wants you to believe. Only cowards leave their country or suggest that other patriots leave. A change is desperately needed to regain our pride and prosperity and this change can only be accomplished by the hard work of true dedicated patriots. Wake up.

Democrat and Socialist are two different things no matter what you think. The change needs to come you. Name calling isn't going to do it. Whinning isn't going to do it. Ignorance isn't going to do it. This country was headed toward this mess at least ten years ago and where was your call then I wonder? Yet you call the President names (socialist)just to try and to justify how you feel. You don't like his policies and that's fine, but this is what happens when someone else wins an election. The last ten years or so have led us to this and yet people assume there is a magic wand to get us out of it. Amazing!

China has "own" us for decades so to speak. Now for some reason we are paying attention.
First rate seriously ! Once this country was great but the steady decline in common sense among our elected leaders and the sense of entitlement from the people who vote them into office is bringing this country to its knees. For the first time in years our nations credit rating has dropped because we can not control our spending , like a child who just got their first credit card. We treat people who contribute nothing to society as if they deserve something special for being a sponge. So we give them free housing food and cell phones and say don't worry somebody who works and pays taxes will take care of you. This country was built by individuals who chose to advance themselves and when knocked down got back up and vowed to succeed. I believe everyone is entitled to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness , but you can not get something for nothing. If you play the game of life you certainly will hit some bumps but as long as you play you will finish the game. However if you decide not to play you are not entitled to the benefits or rewards from playing. We have become a society where no one looses and everybody should be number one. Look at sports and other activities, we issue awards and trophies for participating. In the game of life if you play you are certainly entitled to the jersey and the after party but the prizes remains the spoils of those who rise above. As a country we have allowed our selves to accept mediocrity as the norm. I look back to my grandfathers on both sides who would rather work 24 hours a day 7 days per week than accept a hand out from the govt or someone else. Society only works if you tackle the problems like a team. If the half the team is sitting on the bench watching the gaming than who is going to catch the ball. It is about time this country told the bench warmers to start playing before there is no game. Society who rewards failure will eventually fail. Unfortuantly as much as I hate to say it we are a very young country in the eyes of the world but if we do not change soon , this great nation which I love will fail.

The years before his election we never had the unprecedented debt that this socialist democrat president has put upon us and future generations. I do believe there is a steady decline in things in this country. It is caused by the politicians we have elected. I just don't believe the current President is the problem. It is the ones in congress who would rather discuss contraception then pass any laws that really matters. It is the lawmakers in this country that cause its decline. The president does not make the laws.
The years before the current President entered we never had to pay the bills that come about because there are two wars going on.
As for the so called "apologies" please spare me the talking points. That's what you are spoon fed never once trying to find out what is really going on.

It's Socialism at it's absolute definiton. To call Obama a Socialist is not name calling. His agenda and actions are proof that he is a Socialist. His speech almost always contains some Socialist leaning statement.

However, why not answer the basic question: Are you and our great country better off now than you were three years ago? Our socialist democrat president has the the true gift of spin. This union must face the fact that because of the way we have grown economical there are two societies at work here. There seems to be no end in sight. One society believe that they have self respect and pride and the other society doesnt give a shit. Somebody has to pay the bill for the society that does not give a shit. Cant have homeless kids in tents beside the bypass, can we? The gap betwenn the two societies grows wider every single day. I quess Time will tell.
To save us and our Unions way of life, freedom and diversity you have to concentrate on the kids that are not even born yet. We as a Union have to find a way to make time work for us. Trust me it will start with the kids. We have to rebuild a Nation, that will take some TIME.
And to be clear we all played a part in this mess, some more than others. But we are still ALL on the same ship of fools. sadly, there is opposition to common sense. IMO, it shows in the democratic party. BUT, we still need to be respectful to this new contributor. maybe show them the error of his/her ways. most people grow up R/D because of how the family was raised. unfortunately, both parties have gone through radical changes in less than a generation though. we need to remember, this isnt "yo daddy's" dem/rep party anymore.

While I will probably disgree with the majority of your stances, I respect and welcome the opportunity for civilized, fact based discourse. One thing that makes America great is our diverse views. I always like to hear differing points of view. To the people complaining. If you can't stand to hear another's opinion, or don't feel that you have the information needed to defend your own beliefs, then you may need to take a moment and evaluate whether or not you are just blowing smoke or really own your principles.
