They charged the driver with negligence. Payable with a $275 fine. Md. Law says her life was worth $275. She was worth so much more. So much more!
There would be ethical concerns for a States Attorney to be discussing a pending case in a public forum such as this Facebook page. At this point in time only the family needs to know what is going on and if they feel that they want everyone to know it is their prerogative to post the info.

Locally in 2009 Daniel Bren struck 2 bicyclists on the Rt 50 bridge in Ocean City and fled the scene. He was caught, charged and released on $100,000 bail. He pleaded guilty in 2010 to negligent manslaughter and leaving the scene and was given the maximum 10 year sentence + 1 yr for leaving the scene. All years were suspended but for 18 months.
Beau dropped the ball and should have opposed this man's release at the hearing. That is the bottom line. He doesn't care about crime victims and never wants to deal with then. Anyone who has ever worked with him knows that.
Mr. Oglesby could have stopped this man from driving but did nothing. That's what happens when you have an inexperienced person in charge they screw up in big ways.

I must have missed it when the MD General Assembly changed the laws governing bail review hearings. I still thought a district court judge presided and decided the bails. When did it get changed to the State's Attorney?

Show some decency toward the DelRicco's who have acted with class in this most unwanted (but appreciated by the outpouring of love) public situation they find themselves in. I don't like what I read here and it's not me I'm concerned about but others who may seach Baby Ava's name and see these comments and think the family condones this. It's very disrespectful to them and their children.
