MY Comment On Daily Times Regarding Earl Campbell

What more can be said. What an idiot this guy is, and I can tell you he is going to find himself in hot water along with Albero

Alice Davis The Story That Rocked Our Community

The Alice Davis case was by far the biggest story on my site this year. Alice was a well respected and loved Teacher and friend to many, who went missing right as the School year was beginning . Alice's husband Jess reported that she had went to Wal Mart in Fruitland and after an hour when she had not returned he called the police to report her as missing.

Alice's blue Honda Fit was found that night abandoned down toward Hunan Palace and the bowling alley. Police immediately began questioning Jess about the particulars. Within 48 hours Jess Davis took his own life by slitting his wrists but leaving no note giving any indication of what could have happened to Jess. Police suspected Jess was involved from the start with the numerous inconsistencies in his story to Police about her disappearance.

Several days later members of a Church on Loretto Road in Princess Anne found her body in the woods behind their Church and Police closed the case, It seems Jess Davis was seen on video driving the car into the parking lot and then calling a cab to take him to their home in Allen the night he reported her missing. Police later announced Jess Davis was the only suspect and that they believe he killed his wife and later dumped her body in the woods.

Flashback-Davis Ruark Enough Said

I could write a big post about him but as you know Davis Drama is a non-stop TV show. I think if you live around here you are well aware of the problems Davis has.

Flashback-Palmer Gillis Group Out Of Fire Station Deal

By a vote of 3-1 the extension was denied for Palmer Gillis and his plans for the Old Fire Headquarters. My thoughts have been mixed lately on the matter because I really believe the City should have gotten more than 100 Thousand dollars for the property. I also know Palmer has the money to keep this beautiful building from crumbling to the ground so it is a 50/50 for me. According to Brad they are no longer interested in this project.

UPDATE: The City Council has not moved one step since then on doing anything with this building as it just continues to sit

Flashback-Chickenstock In Review

Well Saturday was Chickenstock and now that it is behind us I wanted to really share my thoughts on it.

The idea behind this event was fantastic as the Untied Way is a great organization to support and the idea of a large stadium filled with bands and people having fun for a great cause is applaudable.

The real problem began with the ticket pricing with a starting price of 85 dollars per ticket. That instantly turned people off especially when they announced the bands that were scheduled to perform. Most people remember Dionne Worwick more for her Psychic friends network and for being a bitch on celebrity apprentice than for her singing abilities. I loved Kenny Loggins in 1987 but 2011? A CCR knockoff band? The other bands quite honestly without looking them up on google I had no idea who they were. This isn't to say they weren't entertaining or good just been out of the spotlight for awhile.

The last minute decision to lower ticket prices to 35 dollars because of lagging sales unfortunately was too late as the initial sticker shock had already turned people off and who then proceeded to make other plans for the weekend. I drove out there Saturday afternoon to see how it was going and while I couldn't see the area in front of the stage the stands were maybe 1/3 full. The event was promoted properly and they did a great job organizing it, the price and the acts I feel was the decided factor in the turnout.

In my opinion they would have been better served to get a bigger name act for a limited amount of time. Kenny Chesney 35 dollars a ticket for a 2 2/12 hour show would have sold out. I hope they continue to try this event but just tweak it after seeing some of the mistakes that were made.

Flashback-Dennis Dare Getting The Shaft In Ocean City

Ocean City Town Manager Dennis Dare is getting royally screwed by this coupe being led by the Ocean City council. Joe Hall, Jim Hall, Margaret Pillas and Brent Ashley are making a mockery of the entire City by this idiotic move. They admit he is doing a great job but want to go in a different direction? What the hell is that supposed to mean? The only reason you would make a power play like that is if he was incompetent which obviously he isn't.

The Citizens should not stand for this BS and a rallying date has already been set for Monday September 26th at 10 AM at the Clarion Hotel. Please spread the word and pack the room so the citizens decide what is best and not some boneheaded political move that makes no sense.

Flashback -Justin Hadel Given Life In Prison With No Parole

Justin Hadel was given Life In Prison with No Possibility of Parole today in a Worcester County Courtroom for the murder of Christine Sheddy in November of 2007. The judge listened to heart wrenching victim impact statements from her Mother Lynn Dodenhoff and Step Father Steve Dodenhoff that brought tears out of most in the courtroom.

Lynn said it best when she said Christine was given a death penalty and her children were given a life sentence without their Mother. While Arch McFadden his defense attorney tried to get leniency for Justin's young age, the judge quickly responded while Justin may be only 20, Christine was only 26 when he took her life. The Judge also mentioned the charade and deceit Justin had perpetrated on Christine's family and the community by his actions of hiding her body in a hole disposed of worst than an animal.

Just Hadel as usual showed no emotion entering or exiting the courtroom, during the tearful testimony of Lynn and Steve or when the judge told him he was headed to prison for the rest of his life with no chance of getting out. Society was done a favor today by a cold blooded murderer being put away for the rest of his pathetic life.

"A Bunch of Names on Paper"

Why yes, Salisbury voters, that is a direct quote from your elected city official, Tim Spies. And yes, when he says "a bunch of names on paper," he is referring to you. Because thanks to the journalistic prowess of Times reporter Sarah Lake, we now know for sure that when "one-and-a-half times more than the number of people who voted in the last election" signs a petition objecting to council's actions, it means nothing.

Actually, it means less than nothing. We voters are so unimportant to council that they couldn't even be bothered to allow a question on the next ballot that would address our concerns with the amendment. That means they flat out refused a voter survey of their actions. In what world are elected officials openly allowed to reject voter input? Apparently, the world of Salisbury politics. Oh and here's one that'll make ya proud- they accused all 2,325 of us who signed the petition of lying. That's right. Mr. Spies justified sweeping us under the rug by claiming that for all he knew, none of the signatures were verified.

We know, we know. It's hard to believe that anybody is really that shameless, but we live in Salisbury. And in Salisbury, pride doesn't come before the fall because it was never there to begin with.

September Is Todays Flashback

I also am going to be putting a new flashback at the top of each post as I have had some people not see this post on the month being covered and they have gotten confused
