The Chief Of Police Needs To Be Given More Powers

The City of Salisbury Chief Of Police makes more money a year then the Mayor and all 5 City Council members combined, but has to go through all this hassle with the City Council to get simple agreements with local merchants for Police related issues accomplished. It would make her job much simpler if she could make these agreements,then you wouldn't have to worry about political issues even coming into play.

It takes up far too much of her time dealing with this nonsense than it should when it is something that she is fully capable of dealing with without instruction.

Salisbury Police Force Looking For New Economical Patrol Cars

Last night the City approved funds for the SPD to replace to patrol cars that had been totalled in accidents, and it was learned the SPD is going to be looking for newer economical choices for the patrol cars over the long time Police favorite Ford Crown Victoria's averaging around 14 mpg.

Some of the options out there are Chevy Malibu's, 6 cyl Dodge Chargers,and Ford Interceptors

45 Minutes For WalMart 15 For Charter Amendment

I am actually glad this whole incident from Walmart arose because it clearly shows not enough time was vested in making a Charter Amendment for the future of Salisbury when we spend 45 minutes of whether someone has authority to sign something from Walmart but only 15 minutes to change a major part of the City Charter.

Notice how when it's something they are opposed to they will spend as much time as necessary to find a reason to not allow it, but when it's something they approve they do not care what the Citizens think and can get it done quicker than a Pizza can be delivered.

I love the spotlight being shown on them and the record numbers of former followers who have seen them finally for the cockroaches they truly are.

Campbell and Cohen ask For Sam Walton To Be Exhumed

I can say I truly am at a loss for words at how pathetic these people are. Debbie Campbell, Terry Cohen and Tim Spies are the most laughable Council in the history of Salisbury. Last night only thanks to the hard work of Laura Mitchell and Jim Ireton the agreement has at least moved forward but isn't out of the woods yet thanks to their idiocy.They now want to question whether Muir's boss has the authority to sign an agreement. Paul Wilber said he was going to work with Muir to get it but this has just gotten so ridiculous.

I bet Debbie questions whether God had the authority to do the 10 Commandments I mean come on this is beyond sad. 19 yes you read that correct nineteen other Wal-Marts have this agreement with other Cities on the East Coast without requiring this do you have the authority game. Never had a problem with it, never had any liability issues but that isn't good enough for Debbie, Terry or Tim.

It is only thanks to the residents and the City Police who got outraged at this behavior that they were forced to approve it last night, but again let me remind you it isn't a done deal yet. They have to be satisfied with the authority of the person who signs and want written proof from corporate walmart that the person has it. I got news for you Corporate WalMart could give 2 shits less about the Salisbury City Council and their demands.

Laura Mitchell and Jim Ireton deserve all the credit in pushing for Citizen safety by refusing to accept this nonsense from the Council. Finally people are seeing this trio for exactly what they are. I found it laughable Terry and Debbie wanted to go after the Daily Times for publishing what they called lies, but take full advantage of a man who served a year probation for perjury as their press secretary who does nothing but lie.
